Description
JOB SUMMARY: Contributes to the overall success of LECOM by providing excellent customer service to all customers. Providing customers with prompt service, quality food and beverages, and maintaining a clean and comfortable environment in accordance with LECOM's standard of excellence.
CHARACTERISTIC JOB TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Establish and maintain effective working relationships;
  • Knowledge of the protocols and procedures in Institutional education;
  • Acts with integrity, honesty and knowledge that promote the culture, values and mission of LECOM;
  • Maintains a calm demeanor during periods of high volume or unusual events to keep store operating to standard and to set a positive example for the shift team;
  • Anticipates customer and store needs by constantly evaluating environment and customers for cues. Communicates information to manager so that the team can respond as necessary to create a positive environment during each shift;
  • Assists with new employee training by positively reinforcing successful performance and giving respectful and encouraging coaching as needed;
  • Contributes to positive team environment by recognizing alarms or changes in employee morale and performance and communicating them to the store manager;
  • Delivers excellent customer service to all customers by acting with a customer comes first attitude and connecting with the customer. Discovers and responds to customer needs;
  • Follows LECOM operational policies and procedures, including, but not limited to, those for cash handling and safety and security, to ensure the safety of all employees during each shift;
  • Maintains a clean and organized workspace so that employees can locate resources and various product as needed;
  • Provides quality beverages, whole bean, and food products consistently for all customers by adhering to all recipe and presentation standards. Follows health, safety and sanitation guidelines for all products;
  • Recognizes and reinforces individual and team accomplishments by using existing organizational methods;
  • Maintains regular and punctual attendance;
  • Contribute directly to the Mission of LECOM embodying the essence of Osteopathic Principles and Practices by assisting with Institutional fundraising and participating in the LECOM Scholarship Auction;
  • Participate in scholarly activity so to enrich and broaden the student learning experience;
  • Commit to being a representative of LECOM by being actively involved in the community, including, but not limited to, serving on Boards, participating in community fundraisers and overall outreach; and
  • Perform other related duties as assigned for the purpose of ensuring the efficient and effective functioning of the work unit.

  • Flexibility to accept other duties needed/assigned for the department needs;
  • Ability to work cooperatively and collegially with others, consistent with a workplace of dignity and respect and EEO rules and regulations;
  • Ability to report to work as scheduled, ready to devote full attention and energy to the important work of LECOM; and
  • Ability to accept work directives from managers and supervisors in a respectful and cooperative manner.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Education and experience equivalent to:
Education: High School diploma and/or equivalent required.
Experience: Previous customer service experience preferred.
  • Maintain regular and consistent attendance and punctuality, with or without reasonable accommodation;
  • Available to work flexible hours that may include early mornings, evenings, weekends, nights and/or holidays;
  • Meet store operating policies and standards, including, but not limited to, providing quality beverages and food products, cash handling and store safety and security, with or without reasonable accommodation;
  • Engage with and understand our customers, including, but not limited to, discovering and responding to customer needs through clear and pleasant communication;
  • Prepare food and beverages to standard recipes or customized for customers, including, but not limited to, recipe changes such as temperature, quantity of ingredients or substituted ingredients; and
  • Be available to perform many different tasks within the store during each shift.
