Job description

Job Summary
The Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant will provide health care services to patients and as needed to support medical and safety efforts at site.
Schedule: 2x12 shifts (24 hours per week).
We are offering a $1,500 sign-on bonus for this position!
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Employee Care, Treatment and Testing:
    • Provides first-aid, medical treatment and appropriate follow-up to occupationally ill/injured workers consistent with appropriate Workers' Compensation standards and laws
    • Provides first-aid or minimal incidental care and treatment and appropriate follow-up for non-occupational conditions consistent with appropriate standards for an employer on-site clinic and laws.
    • Performs regulatory testing, TB tests, immunizations, blood draws, EKG's, vision screening, audiograms, and drug testing if required.
    • Performs other wellness activities, flu shots, education and coaching for programs as requested.
    • Performs examinations for employee medical surveillance programs including new hire, fit-for-duty, return-to-work, or exit exams.
    • Provides return-to-work clearances as appropriate.
    • Performs effective case management follow-up for injuries/illness and absences
    • Provides counseling to employees on employment risk reduction initiatives as needed
  • Clinic Management
    • Maintains frequent communication with Medical Director and WorkCare Supervisor regarding all clinic issues and client requests
  • Medical Records and Private Health Information
    • Maintains employee health records and databases
    • Computer data entry of all employee demographic and health information
    • Responsibly handles and guards Protected Health Information
    • Follows all applicable HIPAA laws, regulations, and guidelines
  • Client Interaction:
    • Develops and maintains good relationships with client management, medical and safety personnel, co-workers and WorkCare supervisors and managers
    • Communicates with appropriate client management frequently
    • Provides timely, accurate reporting as dictated by client, WorkCare and by law

Perform additional duties and assume additional responsibilities as identified by manager for the efficient operation of WorkCare.
Education and Experience
  • Current, unrestricted Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant license in Vermont with national certification.
  • Must have unrestricted DEA license.
  • Current ACLS preferred.
  • Required BLS certification.
  • A minimum of 3 years advanced practice experience with prior occupational medicine preferred.

Computer Skills
  • Must be competent in the Windows operating system environment, Adobe Professional, Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint) and learn other software as needed.

Physical Demands
  • Requires sitting for long periods of time, working at a desk.
  • Some bending and stretching could be required.
  • Working under stress and use of computer/phone required.
  • Manual dexterity required for use of computer keyboard.
  • Occasionally may be required to stand, walk, stoop, kneel and/or crouch.
  • May occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.
  • Must be able to navigate uneven surfaces.

Work Environment
  • Mainly indoor, office environment conditions.
  • The noise level is usually moderate.
  • Air quality is good and temperature is controlled.
  • Normal medical clinic environment.

The hourly pay range for this position is $60.00 - $62.00 per hour. Final compensation offered to the final candidate within this range depends on factors such as job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and qualifications.
