Job description

Ready to shape the future of science and global health? ATCC, a leading nonprofit biological resources and standards organization, is seeking a Repository Technician with warehouse, shipping or inventory experience onsite in Frederick, MD. Data entry experience preferred. 

The Repository Technician supports warehouse tasks involving inventory management, storage, retrieval, and shipping of biological materials for commercial and government clients. This role will expose you to the biorepository industry standards. Shipping, inventory, and warehouse experience would make you a great candidate for this job!

  • Laboratory and Material Handling: Monitor and maintain temperature-controlled storage systems, ensure inventory organization, and wear proper PPE (personal protective equipment) while obtaining biomaterials from repository freezers.  
  • Operations Coordination: Processing incoming shipments, stock replenishment and inventory, and preparing samples for shipment. 
  • Organization and Documentation: Manage inventory and maintain biological materials in proper cold chain environment (196°C (-321°F) degrees to 29°C (85°F) degrees) through the monitoring of storage systems, freezers and tanks. Performing functions following standard operating procedures, systematic data entry, and performing good documentation practices (GDP) and maintaining cGMP standards. 

  • Minimum Requirement: HS Diploma and 1 year of experience.
  • Warehouse, shipping/handling, or inventory experience required.
  • Data entry experience preferred. 
  • Attention to detail for batch number and item number differentiation and counting.
  • Willingness and ability to learn inventory management systems. 
  • Ability to learn and follow quality control/assurance procedures. 
  • Effective communication in English (both verbal and written), strong organizational skills. 
  • Staff hired for the NCI Central Repository Program must be eligible to able to obtain an NIH Personal Identity Verification (PIV) Card by submitting a Declaration of Federal Employment form within 60 days of employment.

The expected salary range for this position is $40,000 to $50,000 annually. Actual compensation will be determined based on experience and qualifications as well as internal equity and alignment with market data. In addition to base salary, this role may be eligible for additional incentive compensation including regular merit increases and the corporate bonus program.
