Job description

Basic qualifications are:
  • Must be 18 years old
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent
  • Must be authorized to work in the US
  • One year of manufacturing experience required
  • One (1) to three (3) years' experience operating one of the following: Slitter, Stretcher, and/or Cut to Length Lines required
  • Available to work any shift, weekends, holidays and overtime as required
  • Ability to frequently lift 50 lbs
  • Willing to adhere to all safety rules and regulations, including all PPE requirements
  • Must be able to successfully complete a pre-employment drug screen, physical, and background check

Essential job functions are:
  • Review work orders and use material handling equipment, overhead crane or fork lift to get material.
  • Verify material to order and enter into computer
  • Instrumentally start machine and set up line for production
  • Charge material through machine with hand controls
  • Maintain production and quality standards by measuring and verifying before during and after processing
  • Use micrometers or calipers to check and record gauge width, hardness, burr and surface condition
  • Document machine mechanical problems
  • Understand and document material defects, data entry and reconcile production
  • Adjust machine setup to correct defects as needed throughout process
  • Remove scrap from machine and empty hopper as needed
  • Direct Material Handlers, Crane Operators and Helpers as required to maintain continuous production

Physical Demands:
  • May be required to stand for long periods of time
  • May involve some repetitive motions
  • Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds
  • May also engage in frequent bending, stooping, squatting, pushing and pulling of parts and part containers
  • Due to the open environment of the warehouse, must be able to work in various weather and temperature conditions to include extreme heat, humidity and cold

Requirements:
  • Understand and follow basic verbal and written instructions
  • Possess basic mathematical skills: addition, subtraction, multiplication and division
  • Computer skills, data entry, good verbal and written communication skills
  • Perform basic visual quality inspections on products
  • Utilize power tools and various equipment as needed to perform duties
  • Must be certified or become certified in operation of forklifts and overhead cranes
