Job description


Diagnostic Laboratory of Oklahoma (DLO)
Location: Miami, OK
Hours: Wednesday 2:30pm-11pm Thursday and Friday 9:30am-6pm
Essential Functions:
  • Report to work on time and prepared for each scheduled shift
  • Perform all assigned duties and processes, including tasks for which you are fully qualified and those within your demonstrated capabilities
  • Maintain a positive, professional, and supportive attitude throughout the workday
  • Work collaboratively as a team member and contribute to a respectful, productive work environment

Responsibilities
  • Must be able to work both independently and as a team member.
  • Specimen collection will include all age groups and both Inpatients and Outpatients.
  • Clerical tasks and computer data entry are a PSR responsibility.
  • Must be customer service focused and professional.

Qualifications
Required Knowledge:
  • Knowledge of phlebotomy procedures, specimen requirements and basic computer use is helpful.
  • Must comply with all DLO safety and compliance policies.

Required Experience: Phlebotomy certification is preferred but not required. Previous phlebotomy experience in a clinic or hospital setting is preferred. Experience working/interacting with patients in a hospital setting is preferred.
Special Requirements:
  • Must be able to communicate effectively to clients, patients and staff in person and on the telephone.
  • Must have excellent patient service skills.
  • Must be able to adjust schedule to help cover other shifts as needed.
