Job description

The Test Cell Operator is responsible for the safe execution of vehicle-based testing. An Operator conducts the testing based on various work instructions required to comply with regulatory or industry best practice for development or certification testing.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following: Other duties may be assigned or requested. 
  • Receive, prepare and secure customer vehicles for testing on a dynamometer, ensuring proper loading and restraints. 
  • Conduct routine inspections on vehicles, maintain detailed records, and report any issues as needed. 
  • Perform data entry and reporting tasks using Microsoft Excel and Word accurately record, organize, and distribute test results for internal and external use. 
  • Perform general cleaning and maintenance tasks to ensure the facility remains clean, organized, and operational. 
Qualifications, Knowledge, Experience & Behaviours 
  • Must possess working knowledge of computer systems for data entry and equipment operation. 
  • Skilled in reading, comprehending, interpreting, and executing instructions. 
  • Possesses strong interpersonal skills and communication skills. 
  • Ability to work under minimal supervision. 
  • Ability to manage time and complete daily tasks. 
  • Demonstrates strong work ethic, integrity, and a high level of attention to details. 
  • An aptitude for learning coupled with a positive "can do" attitude. 

Physical Demands and Work Environment: 
Must be able to walk, bend, reach, and lift, if necessary 20 pounds or more. The physical demands here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. Acute vision and perception are required due to the nature of the equipment being operated.
