Overview

NaphCare is hiring a Behavioral Health Clerk to join our team of medical professionals in the Limestone Correctional Facility, Harvest, AL

Responsibilities

The Behavioral Health Clerk plays a critical role in our continued mission to provide quality healthcare that protects the rights, dignity, and health of our unique patient population. Duties and responsibilities may include and not be limited to:

    Log requests for offsite and diagnostic studies.

  • Maintain mental health clinic logs and ensure that appointments are scheduled according to DOC protocols.

  • Assist nurses and other staff in issuing and tracking minor medical equipment (e.g. heating pads.)

  • Collect data from ER logs, segregation logs, etc. for monthly QI reporting.

  • Coordinate the scheduling of on-site specialty appointments (e.g. X-ray, physical therapy, medical-surgical subspecialties.)

  • Answer telephone calls, take messages and make telephone calls as needed.

  • Type correspondence, reports or memorandums, as needed.

  • Maintains roster or appointment book based on scheduled appointments, both offsite and onsite, as needed

  • Orders, receives and maintains office supplies

  • Follows standard precautions using personal protective equipment as required.

  • Other duties as assigned by management.


Qualifications

Requirements / Qualifications

  • High school graduate or equivalent.

  • At least one (1) year experience in a behavioral health care environment.

  • Experience using Excel, Word, and Outlook.

  • Effective time management skills.

  • Subject to initial and ongoing security clearance requirement.

  • A background check, security clearance and drug screening are required for this role.

Physical Capabilities:

Must have the ability to stand for long periods, lift and move patients (up to 50 pounds), bend, squat, reach, push, pull, walk significant distances, and perform physically demanding tasks like CPR, all while maintaining good balance and endurance throughout a shift.
