Job description

Job Title: Data Entry Operator

Location: Valparaiso, IN (100% Onsite)

Contract Duration: 4 Months (with possible extensions)

Rate: $20 โ€“ $24/hr (W2)

Position Overview

The Data Entry Operator โ€“ Senior is responsible for performing advanced, high-volume data entry across multiple systems while maintaining accuracy, confidentiality, and efficiency. This role requires strong attention to detail, independent decision-making, and the ability to support process improvements and guide other team members once fully trained. The position operates in a fully onsite environment and supports departmental data integrity and reporting needs.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform advanced alpha and numeric data entry across multiple systems

  • Support multiple data entry tasks, including data cleanup and validation

  • Proof work for accuracy, completeness, and compliance with established procedures

  • Prioritize work by coding, sorting, and organizing data inputs

  • Correct errors identified during visual inspection or review processes

  • Maintain accurate records, logs, and tracking documentation

  • Generate reports based on entered data

  • Manage confidential and sensitive information with discretion

  • Make independent decisions related to planning, organizing, and scheduling assigned work

  • Provide guidance to staff after gaining proficiency in processes and systems

  • Assist with development of simple standard operating practices for data entry tasks

  • Perform basic mechanical adjustments such as switching sets or changing control features

Required Qualifications

  • High school diploma required; post-secondary education preferred

  • 6+ years of experience in data entry or related administrative roles

  • Demonstrated ability to perform high-volume, accurate data entry

  • Ability to key 10,000 keystrokes per hour

  • Experience using a 10-key adding machine

  • Strong mathematical and item processing skills

  • Proven attention to detail and organizational skills

  • Ability to work independently in a structured, onsite environment

Preferred Qualifications

  • SAP experience desired

  • Microsoft Access experience preferred

  • Experience working with multiple data systems simultaneously
