Position Overview
The Inventory Clerk is responsible for supporting daily inventory operations through accurate data entry, inventory tracking, reconciliation, and system management. This role ensures inventory records remain accurate, complete, and up to date while supporting operational efficiency across warehouse and field operations.
The Inventory Clerk will assist with identifying and resolving inventory discrepancies, maintaining reporting accuracy, and supporting inventory-related processes within Heavy Job and other company systems. This position plays a key role in maintaining inventory integrity and supporting operational teams with timely and accurate information.
Essential Functions

  • Enter, review, and maintain inventory-related data within Heavy Job and other inventory management systems.
  • Monitor inventory transactions to ensure accuracy and completeness of records.
  • Identify, investigate, and resolve inventory discrepancies and reporting issues.
  • Assist with importing and exporting inventory data between multiple systems and programs.
  • Perform inventory audits, cycle counts, and reconciliation activities as needed.
  • Maintain organized documentation and inventory records in accordance with company procedures.
  • Support warehouse, procurement, fleet, and operations teams with inventory inquiries and reporting needs.
  • Generate and distribute inventory reports to leadership and operational teams.
  • Assist with process improvements related to inventory tracking, reporting, and system utilization.
  • Maintain strong communication with internal departments to ensure inventory accuracy and operational support.
  • Support compliance with company policies, procedures, and inventory control standards.
Education
Preferred:
  • High School Diploma or GED required
  • Associate degree in Business, Supply Chain, Inventory Management, or related field preferred
Experience
Required:
  • 2+ years of inventory, warehouse, administrative, or data entry experience
  • Experience working with inventory management systems and Microsoft Office applications
Preferred:
  • Experience with Heavy Job software or construction-related inventory systems
  • Utility construction, fleet, warehouse, or procurement experience preferred
Special Knowledge / Skills
Required:
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy
  • Strong organizational and time management skills
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and data entry systems
