Job Description

The position of Shipping Clerk is fast paced and requires the worker to perform data entry (Visual Manufacturing ERP system, FedEX, UPS, & USPS), count cartons, label cartons, and palletize shipments to be delivered correctly. Works closely with co-workers and supervisors ensuring that all parts are counted, labeled and boxed correctly and are housed in appropriate locations. Strong communication skills are essential, as well as basic computer knowledge. The Shipping Clerk must be able to develop and maintain strong working relationships. Attendance and punctuality are essential.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Prepare cartons for shipment.
  • Read incoming paperwork from the shop, determine if the job is complete/ready to ship, and identify what shipping method is to be used.
  • Perform the inventory data transactions in the computer system (create packing list and invoice).
  • Schedule shipments with carriers via phone, email, and/or FedEx, UPS, & USPS interactive software systems.
  • Physically stack cartons in appropriate areas for freight companies to pick up.
  • With the use of hand truck, pallet jack, fork lift, and hand carry, load freight onto trucks.
  • Take direction from supervisor.

Skills and Qualifications

  • Ability to lift up to 40 pounds.
  • Knowledge of basic warehouse and shipping processes.
  • Produce quality work at a fast pace, standing on feet all day.
  • Self-motivated with ability to work independently and proficiently.
  • Extremely detail oriented, organized and able to handle high volume of product safely, efficiently.
  • Previous MRP, FedEx One ship, UPS World Ship, experience preferred.
  • Able to work effectively as a team member with other shipping/warehouse employees.
  • Professional demeanor with co-workers and customers.
  • Clearly read, write and comprehend English.
  • Use a hand truck and pallet jack.
  • Good written and verbal skills.

Hourly Range: $23.00 - $28.00 per hour
