The Minot Public Library is accepting applications for the position of Temporary Administrative Assistant, with an application deadline of Thursday, August 20th 2026. This position is open to all qualified internal and external applicants.


Nature of Work

This is clerical and office work performed for the Minot Public Library. This position is currently a part time temporary position that works 20 hours per week until 12/30/2026. Work involves standard clerical duties of a highly procedural nature including filing, sorting, arithmetical computations, posting data, keeping records and operating office machines. Special operational skills, if required by a specific position, are generally acquired through on the job training. Work is generally performed under close supervision and is reviewed by observation of results obtained. Please see the attached job description for complete details.


Education, Experience, Other Requirements

Minimum Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED.
  • One (1) year of general clerical or administrative experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Word and Excel.
  • Experience operating standard office equipment, including copiers, printers, calculators, and other office machines.
  • Ability to type at least 40 words per minute.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Coursework toward or completion of a college degree.
  • Experience working in an office environment.
  • Experience with accounting, payroll, or financial recordkeeping.
  • Experience using Microsoft Outlook.

Compensation

  • This is a Non-Exempt Temporary position until 12/30/2026
  • Starting Salary: $21.48 per hour
  • North Dakota Veteran’s Preference Applicable under NDCC 37-19.1
