HindlePower

Job description

What we do...

HindlePower has been designing and manufacturing industrial (non-commercial) battery chargers and dc power systems for the utility industry for over 35 years. Our staff and products serve the power generation and distribution market, switchgear OEMs, power substations, the oil and gas industry, and various transportation maintenance facilities. We are the leaders in our industry and have customers in all 50 states plus additional countries worldwide.

What you'll do...

This is not a call center. Our customers are utilities, distributors, and equipment builders buying engineered dc power systems, and many of them we have worked with for years. You will get to know them, and they will get to know you.

We are looking for a Customer Service Representative to answer those customers and get their orders into our system accurately and quickly. Order entry is the front door to everything we build, so the work you do here sets the pace for the whole floor.

Taking care of customers

  • Answer customer questions by phone and email, and own them through to an answer
  • Verify order details including pricing, configuration, and shipping information, and go back to the customer when something does not line up
  • Follow the production schedule so you can give customers a real answer on where their order stands
  • Build professional relationships with the people you talk to regularly

Getting orders in and right

  • Enter sales orders into our ERP system accurately the first time
  • Keep customer records and order documentation clean and current
  • Work with Sales, Engineering, Supply Chain, and Production to get the answers a customer needs
  • Look for ways to make order entry faster and more consistent

What you bring...

Experience and background

  • Two or more years of experience in customer service, order entry, scheduling, or data entry, or a two year associate degree
  • High school diploma or GED
  • Comfort working in an ERP system. We use Made2Manage (M2M) and we will train you on ours
  • Proficiency with Outlook, Word, and Excel

The way you work

  • Strong written and verbal communication. A good part of this job is writing clear, professional email
  • Real attention to detail. An order entered wrong costs a customer time and costs us credibility
  • Professional phone skills, including handling and routing calls well
  • Willingness to learn a complex product line. Nobody arrives knowing dc power systems and we do not expect you to
  • Comfort in a fast paced environment where priorities shift during the day

A few things about us...

Our commitment to quality is evident in our highly skilled colleagues and our exceptional approach to customer service that sets us apart. We believe in rewarding hard work and offering competitive compensation, comprehensive health, vision, and dental benefits, along with a 401k plan that includes employer matching and a gain-sharing program.

At our core, we are driven by integrity and quality, constantly seeking innovative solutions and improvements. Our unique culture thrives on accountability and self-initiative, empowering every employee to make impactful contributions. In our organizational structure, your voice is heard, and your efforts are recognized. We celebrate our achievements together, whether it's over a complimentary lunch in our cafeteria or through our various team-building activities. We are a five-time Top Workplace in the Lehigh Valley and were named one of IndustryWeek's 'Best Plants'. We are proud of our accomplishments and are continually striving to do better.

We value our employees and trust they hold these key characteristics:

  • Initiative... we see it, we do it
  • Ownership... I've got it, you don't need to think about it
  • Integrity... decisions are based on looking at the whole picture
  • Attitude... anything can be done
  • Virtue... honesty, good deeds, kindness, and appreciation
  • Teamwork... we before I

The details...

  • Pay: $22-$27 per hour
  • Schedule: Monday through Friday, 8am-5pm
  • Location: 1075 Saint John Street, Easton, PA. This is an on site role
  • Benefits: medical, vision, and dental, 401k with employer match, gain sharing, paid time off, and lunch on us
