Job Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Word Processing Specialist to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for creating, formatting, editing, and finalizing complex legal documents with precision and efficiency. You will work closely with attorneys, paralegals, and other support staff to ensure all documents meet the firm's high standards of quality and compliance.

Primary Responsibilities (responsibilities include but not limited to)

  • Create, edit, and format legal documents including correspondence, various legal documents, contracts, spreadsheets, and presentations using Microsoft Office Suite and other legal software
  • Converting and formatting documents from one application to another and proofreading for accuracy according to the firm's standard format
  • Creating, marking, and generating TOCs (Table of Contents), TOAs (Table of Authorities), and redlining
  • Assisting with work intake and department work requests
  • Transcribe documents or conversations from recordings
  • Collaborate with attorneys and other professionals on special projects to meet tight deadlines
  • Ability to handle sensitive and/or confidential documents while always maintaining data integrity

Qualifications

  • Minimum high school diploma or demonstrated equivalent experience in relevant field.

Skills and Abilities

  • Prior experience in a document production or word processing role, preferably in a legal or professional services environment
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Teams)
  • Familiarity with legal technology such as iManage, Litera Create, NTD, and DocXtools is preferred
  • Able to foster a team culture of high performance and continuous improvement that values learning and a commitment to quality, with an emphasis on service
  • Proven ability to prioritize and organize work, and make independent decisions when to deviate from standard procedures as circumstances require
  • Must be reliable, punctual, and attentive
