Job Title: Engineering Support (Intern)
Hourly Pay Rate: $23.38-$25.00
Location: 501 N. Thompson Ste 103 - Conroe, TX 77301
Service: Yes
Shift Hours: Monday - Friday (8:00 AM - 5:00 PM)
Education, Experience and Skill Requirements
  • Must be currently enrolled in an accredited college or university in an engineering or related science degree program accepted by TX PELS.
  • Application of engineering fundamentals.
  • Ability to communicate effectively.
  • Ability to follow verbal and written instructions.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to work effectively as part of the team.
  • Ability to follow applicable safety standards, practices, and procedures.
  • Ability to work in person, not remote.

Primary Job Duties
  • Apply basic engineering principles and methods to a variety of engineering tasks under supervision.
  • Learn to review plats, subdivision designs and site development plans.
  • Gather basic data and assist with routine statistical analysis.
  • Compile information from records and other archival materials.
  • Learn to investigate and respond to public complaints on roadways, signals, signs, striping, drainage, and other traffic-related issues.
  • Develop spreadsheets and other electronic documents.
  • Participates in career development activities offered by the County.
  • Performs other job responsibilities as assigned.

After receiving a conditional offer of employment, applicant must pass a drug screen (1/2 cost = $20.00, responsibility of applicant) and may need a physical agility test (1/2 cost = $22.50, responsibility of applicant) before becoming an employee of Montgomery County.
