With operations across North America, Europe, and Asia, Elma is known for its technical leadership, low-volume/high-mix manufacturing expertise, and long-term customer partnerships.
We are currently seeking a Manufacturing / Process Engineering Intern to join our Operations team in Fremont, CA This is a hands-on, on-site internship designed for junior or senior engineering students who want real-world manufacturing and ERP experience.
What You'll Do
As a Manufacturing / Process Engineering Intern, you will support day-to-day manufacturing and process engineering activities, including:
  • Assisting with process engineering and optimization initiatives
  • Creating and updating routings and Bills of Material (BOMs) to meet manufacturing requirements
  • Performing time studies and analyzing manufacturing data to improve efficiency
  • Preparing, validating, and testing data within the ERP system
  • Supporting documentation efforts, including process updates and SOPs
  • Collaborating with Engineering, Operations, and Project Management teams
  • Participating in training related to manufacturing processes and ERP systems

This role offers meaningful exposure to how engineering decisions impact real production environments.
Who We're Looking For
  • Currently enrolled Junior or Senior pursuing a Bachelor's degree in:
  • Mechanical Engineering
  • Industrial Engineering
  • Manufacturing Engineering
  • Or a closely related engineering discipline
  • Interest in manufacturing operations, process improvement, and data analysis
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering and manufacturing drawings
  • Strong analytical skills with working knowledge of Excel and Microsoft Office
  • Exposure to ERP or PLM systems is a plus (not required)
  • Comfortable working on-site in a manufacturing environment

Internship Details
  • Pay: $21 - $25/hour (paid internship)
  • Location: On-site in Fremont, CA
  • Schedule: Internship schedule May -mid August
