Working under general supervision of the Manager, Data Engineering, relying on experience and judgement to plan and accomplish goals, the Senior, Data Engineer performs data and application integration activities in support of all corporate information systems across multiple database platforms. Responsibilities include designing, developing, unit testing and deploying data integration and data migration solutions, including the documentation of technical specifications, deployment documents and support procedure manuals. Establishes and maintains partnerships with various lines of business to facilitate system design and support activities as well as working closely with all IT teams to facilitate collaboration on projects and production support. Provides training and mentoring via formal knowledge transfer workshops and one-on-one sessions. Leads complex production support initiatives and applies long term solutions as appropriate.

Responsibilities
Develops database integration solutions including requirement specifications, impact analysis, functional and technical design, programming, documentation, testing, data conversion, and implementation.
Works with business partners, analysts and project managers to design and support new or modified database systems.
Provides technical leadership and mentoring to help developers improve their skills.
Leads complex production support initiatives and applies long term solutions as appropriate.
Provides on-call support for the database integration solutions.
Tracks project hours in time management software.
Performs all other duties or special projects as assigned.

Qualifications
Strong working knowledge of SQL Programming Language.
Strong working knowledge of SQL Server and/or Oracle Relational Database Systems knowledge as well as cloud data solutions such as Databricks.
Strong working knowledge of Source Control Applications such as GIT or Bitbucket.
Strong working knowledge of multiple data integration tools such as SQL Server Integration Services (SSIS), Databricks Transformation capabilities and replication engines.
Strong working knowledge of Principles and techniques of the application development process.
Strong working knowledge of Principles and techniques of system integration and software dependencies.
Strong working knowledge of Logical and physical database design concepts.
Basic working knowledge of Business Intelligence application such as Microsoft Power BI.
Analyzes functional requirements to design and build technical solutions.
Analyzes data and develops logical solutions to problems.
Establishes development estimates and meet agreed upon target dates.
Leads complex production support initiatives.
Provides accurate scope analysis and estimates for large projects.
Conducts knowledge transfer sessions and technical walk-throughs.
Works independently while adhering to company policies and standards.
Interfaces effectively and cooperatively with business partners and co-workers.
