This position works with occasional supervision or direction to perform assigned tasks and coordinate assigned initiatives through completion. The position will maintain effective working relationships with others.
Job Description
Key Accountabilities:
  • Performs assigned task with minimum guidance from supervision
  • Organize and analyze issue specific information and make appropriate recommendations
  • Coordinates assigned projects, studies and initiatives through completion
  • Comply with safety policy and procedures to ensure a safe working environment
  • Prepare and present routine reports
  • Participate in special project and committee assignments as requested
  • Lead routine problem - solving efforts

Education, Experience, and Skill Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, Civil, Chemical, Industrial, Nuclear) from an accredited program.
  • Minimum 4 yrs. relevant job experience

Plant Engineering Support
  • Provide engineering support as assigned to support day to day plant operational and maintenance needs (including forced and planned outages)
  • Provide engineering support and analysis as needed to identify and implement solutions to address plant operational and maintenance issues and improvement opportunities
  • Serve as plant interface with outside engineering resources: Generation Services engineering, 3rd party engineering firms
  • Provide design and specification review as assigned
  • Provide engineering input to maintenance and operational procedures as assigned
  • Collect and analyze plant operational and cost data to identify gaps in performance, develop potential solutions and gain consensus on path forward

Capital and O&M Special Projects Budget Support
  • Support identification and evaluation of capital and O&M special projects needed to support the site's safety, environmental, operational and budget objectives
  • Collect and analyze plant operational and cost data to identify gaps in performance, develop potential solutions and gain consensus on path forward
  • Input and maintain project data and information for assigned capital and O&M special projects in project database
  • Develop stage 1 package documents for assigned projects
  • Run project database reports and provide analysis to support management of the site's capital and O&M special projects budgets

Project Implementation and Execution
  • Serve as Project Manager for assigned projects
  • Serve as Implementation Manager for assigned projects
  • Provide engineering support for projects as assigned
  • Participate in and provide input to project brown paper exercises, scope meetings, kickoff meetings and design review meetings as assigned

Assignments may require:
  • Work on weekends and holidays
  • Work in both an office and field environment
  • Potentially inclement weather conditions

Work Environment
  • Occasional long, irregular hours including work in excess of 12-hour days for extended periods
  • Frequent travel between company facilities, and occasional overnight travel
