Position Summary

We are seeking a Part-Time Data Platform Engineer to support our Data Platform team with data cleansing, master data management, data integration, and Snowflake development activities.

This role will focus initially on Customer/Account Master Data Cleanup, including identifying duplicate and obsolete accounts, validating customer relationships and addresses, supporting account consolidation, and improving overall master data quality.

The resource will also develop and maintain data pipelines that move data from multiple enterprise systems into Snowflake and help design a Snowflake-based Master Data Management (MDM) solution capable of identifying and maintaining a trusted Golden Record for customer/account information.

In addition, this individual will assist with other Data Platform initiatives and operational requests to ensure the existing team is not overwhelmed by the growing number of projects, data issues, enhancement requests, and support activities entering the team's queue.

Key ResponsibilitiesAccount & Master Data Cleanup
  • Perform detailed analysis and cleanup of Customer and Account master data.
  • Identify duplicate, obsolete, incomplete, and incorrectly configured customer/account records.
  • Analyze Sold-To, Ship-To, Bill-To, Payer, and other customer relationships where applicable.
  • Develop repeatable rules for identifying potential duplicate accounts.
  • Perform address standardization, validation, and data-quality checks.
  • Work with business teams to determine the appropriate disposition of questionable or duplicate records.
  • Develop automated data-quality checks to reduce future master-data issues.
  • Produce reports and dashboards showing data-cleanup progress and outstanding exceptions.
Data Integration & Pipeline Development
  • Design, develop, and maintain pipelines to move data from various enterprise applications and databases into Snowflake.
  • Build both full-load and incremental/delta data-integration processes.
  • Develop appropriate staging, transformation, and curated data layers.
  • Implement data validation and reconciliation between source systems and Snowflake.
  • Troubleshoot data-pipeline failures and data-quality discrepancies.
  • Improve pipeline reliability, monitoring, logging, and exception handling.
  • Support integration of structured and semi-structured data from multiple sources.
Data Platform Team Support
  • Assist with the growing backlog of Data Platform requests, enhancements, and production-support activities.
  • Perform data analysis and root-cause investigation for reported data issues.
  • Work on smaller projects and enhancements independently, allowing senior Data Platform resources to focus on strategic initiatives.
  • Support testing, reconciliation, deployment, and post-deployment validation.
  • Collaborate with business analysts, application teams, SAP resources, Data Platform engineers, and reporting teams.
  • Help establish repeatable processes and automation to reduce manual effort across the Data Platform team.
Required Qualifications
  • Experience working in Data Engineering, Data Analytics, Master Data Management, or Data Platform development.
  • SQL skills.
  • Knowledge of Snowflake, Python, and ADF
  • Understanding of relational databases, data modeling, and data warehousing concepts.
  • Ability to analyze large datasets and identify patterns, discrepancies, and data-quality issues.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work independently with limited supervision.
  • Good written and verbal communication skills.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in computer science
