Job description

As the Process Engineer, you will provide engineering support to production processes within the plant. Your responsibility takes on many forms and requires interaction with many different departments including technical, maintenance, planning, QA, RM procurement, and IT. You will work with the operators and supervisors in each building to help define projects that improve the process from a safety, ergonomic, quality, and productivity standpoint.

You will report to the Plant Manager and be based onsite at the facility in Brazil, IN. PPG offers excellent Medical, Dental, & Vision Benefits; matching 401k + retirement savings; and Paid Vacation, Holiday pay.

Responsibilities:

  • Support Departmental EHS Initiatives (CORITY, PSM, Audits, etc.)
  • Perform Process Optimization/Cycle Time Improvements
  • Participate in support department related Kaizen Events
  • Troubleshoot Equipment/Process Issues – will likely involve some evening or weekend phone support
  • Improve Root Cause Investigation Process and Implement Meaningful Corrective Actions
  • Formula Maintenance
  • Develop Standard Work and Assist with Operator Training

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in an Engineering field, preferably Chemical or Mechanical Engineering.
  • Experience during undergrad in an engineering internship or co-op experience.
  • Knowledge of industry regulatory requirements, including EH&S requirements/responsibilities such as PSM a plus.
  • Lean/6 sigma manufacturing principles experience a plus.
