We are seeking a Research Engineer Intern to join the Localization & Mapping team at Plus, focusing on a project to build and validate a closed-loop "long-tail data engine" that improves generic-object detection on a curated long-tail benchmark. The project will first establish a measurable long-tail evaluation benchmark from existing logs. Then a prototype of the data engine will be built using a combination of simulation tools, automated data mining, and foundation models.
Responsibilities:
  • Build and validate a closed-loop "long-tail data engine" that improves generic-object detection on a curated long-tail benchmark. The project will first establish a measurable long-tail evaluation benchmark from existing logs. Then a prototype of the data engine will be built using a combination of simulation tools, automated data mining, and foundation models.

Required Skills:
  • Pursuing MS or PhD in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Robotics, similar technical field of study, or equivalent practical experience.
