The Role: The Entry-Level Electrical Distribution Engineer supports the planning, design, analysis, and delivery of electrical distribution projects under the guidance of experienced engineers. This position offers hands-on experience, technical mentoring, and opportunities to build a successful engineering career.

What You'll Be Doing:
  • Assist with overhead and underground distribution system design.
  • Support engineering analysis using Milsoft WindMil, LightTable, and related software.
  • Assist with coordination studies, system modeling, and Arc Flash Hazard Analyses.
  • Participate in field inspections, data collection, staking, and make-ready surveys.
  • Prepare drawings, calculations, specifications, and engineering documentation.
  • Learn and apply RUS, NESC, IEEE, ANSI, and NEC standards.
  • Coordinate with project managers, senior engineers, utility clients, and design staff.
  • Support construction observation and project closeout activities.
  • Participate in technical training and work toward professional licensure.

What You Bring to the Team:
  • ABET-accredited Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering (required).
  • 0-3 years of electrical distribution engineering experience.
  • Engineer Intern (EI) certification or ability to obtain preferred.
  • Strong communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
  • Desire to learn and grow in a collaborative environment.

Preferred Experience:
  • Exposure to electric utility projects.
  • Familiarity with WindMil or LightTable.
  • Knowledge of RUS, NESC, IEEE, ANSI, and NEC standards.

Physical Requirements:
  • Ability to sit or remain in a stationary position for extended periods (up to 50%)
  • Ability to walk within the office or on job sites (25%)
  • Full range of motion for site-based work, including stooping and standing (25%)
  • Manual dexterity to operate standard office equipment (computer, copier, etc.)
  • Effective verbal communication and clear visual focus on screen-based work
  • Must be able to lift and carry up to 30 lbs. of field equipment as needed
