Job Title:         Engineer Quality I

Client:             Heavy Machine Manufacturing Company
Location:         Horicon, WI 53032
Duration:         1 year, with possibility of extension
Shift:                1st Shift | 7:00 AM – 3:30 PM

Description:

Role Summary

This role supports supplier quality, quality planning, manufacturing, and product development. The engineer will work with cross-functional teams and suppliers to identify quality issues, perform root cause analysis, implement corrective actions, and continuously improve product and manufacturing quality.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead quality planning activities for assigned commodities across product development, current production, service parts, and improvement projects.
  • Work with cross-functional teams on FMEA, control plans, design reviews, supplier audits, risk assessments, and root cause analysis.
  • Identify, communicate, and resolve supplier quality issues.
  • Facilitate supplier corrective actions using the 8D process.
  • Manage RGAs, Supplier Change Requests (SCRs), quality plans, and supplier improvement activities.
  • Analyze quality data and identify opportunities for process and product improvement.
  • Support engineering solutions, inspections, testing, and process improvements.
  • Coordinate with suppliers, subcontractors, manufacturing, supply management, and engineering teams.
  • Ensure compliance with applicable quality, safety, regulatory, and company requirements.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Technology, or related field, or equivalent experience.
  • 2+ years of experience in manufacturing, quality engineering, supplier quality, or supply management.
  • Experience with quality tools such as: FMEA, NCCA, SPC, Root Cause Analysis, Six Sigma
  • Experience with statistical analysis and data-driven problem solving.
  • Ability to interpret engineering drawings, schematics, product models, and GD&T.
  • Strong communication, facilitation, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to prioritize and work with minimal supervision.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with supplier audits, DPARs, and design reviews.
  • Knowledge of SAP-PAG and SAP-PD.
  • Audit experience, including process verification and special process audits.
  • Experience with Lean Manufacturing.
  • Experience with riding lawn equipment or utility vehicle manufacturing processes.

Ideal Candidate

A Supplier Quality/Quality Engineer with 2+ years of manufacturing experience who is comfortable working directly with suppliers and cross-functional engineering teams. Strong experience with FMEA, 8D, root cause analysis, SPC, Six Sigma, GD&T, and supplier audits would be highly valuable.
