Job Title: Data Engineer II
Reports To: Financial & Reporting Applications Manager
Location: Windy Hill Road Area (near I-75 / The Battery) – Hybrid (3 days onsite, subject to change)

Summary
Data Engineer II is a fully proficient, independent contributor responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining scalable and reliable data solutions within a modern enterprise data environment. This role supports both delivery and production support functions, including data engineering, design, and light data analysis. The position requires strong attention to detail, analytical thinking, and the ability to operate in a fast-paced, changing environment while maintaining accuracy and consistency.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and maintain moderately complex data pipelines, datasets, and integrations
  • Support both new development and production data issues in enterprise environments
  • Translate business requirements into scalable, supportable technical solutions
  • Optimize SQL queries, data models, and ETL processes for performance and reliability
  • Perform data validation to ensure accuracy across reporting and analytics outputs
  • Troubleshoot and resolve data and reporting issues end-to-end with minimal supervision
  • Support enterprise BI solutions, including dashboards, datasets, and semantic models
  • Contribute to data architecture standards, coding best practices, and documentation
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams on reporting and analytics needs
  • Participate in peer code reviews and provide constructive feedback
  • Manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment with shifting demands
  • Other duties as assigned

Technical Environment
Candidates should have experience in or exposure to a modern enterprise data stack, including:

  • SQL Server
  • Oracle
  • Python
  • Microsoft Fabric
  • Power BI
  • SAP BI / Crystal Reports
  • Enterprise Data Warehouse / BI ecosystems

Hard Requirements

  • 3–6 years of data engineering or related experience
  • Strong proficiency in SQL and relational databases
  • Experience building or supporting ETL/data integration pipelines
  • Understanding of dimensional modeling and BI/reporting dependencies
  • Hands-on experience with enterprise analytics environments (data pipelines, data warehouses, semantic models)
  • Experience supporting production reporting systems
  • Familiarity with DevOps concepts and version control
  • Strong analytical ability with some data analysis responsibilities
  • Excellent communication skills (written and verbal — must be client-ready)
  • Ability to multitask and adapt to changing priorities
  • Strong attention to detail and consistent execution

Bonus / Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with the Microsoft Fabric ecosystem
  • Exposure to Power BI dataset modeling and refresh behavior
  • Experience in SAP BI or Crystal Reports environments
  • Experience in enterprise-scale BI or data warehouse environments
  • Exposure to agile / DevOps delivery environments

Education
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Management Information Systems, or equivalent experience
