Responsibilities
  • Architect and implement end-to-end cloud solutions including data lakes, data warehouses, and real-time analytics platforms.
  • Design, build, and troubleshoot data acquisition pipelines from diverse sources including databases, flat-files, and REST APIs.
  • Apply medallion architecture (bronze/silver/gold) to deliver scalable and secure solutions.
  • Leverage development design patterns and best practices across workloads.
  • Design star schema dimensional models and implement semantic models optimized for Power BI analytics.
  • Configure incremental refresh and partitioning strategies to optimize compute unit (CU) consumption and query performance.
  • Apply and promote best practices for data engineering including governance, scalability, and deployment standards.
  • Implement and manage RBAC (Role-Based Access Control) with a zero-trust security approach, ensuring appropriate access to data and services across cross-workspace environments.
  • Troubleshoot and proactively identify issues including researching performance issues, pipeline failures, notebook timeouts, data model inconsistencies, semantic model refresh errors, and capacity throttling using monitoring tools and query optimization techniques.
  • Create and maintain technical documentation, operational documentation, data flow diagrams, and data mapping documents.
  • Provides technical leadership and mentorship to team members.
  • Excellent communication skills for technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Ability to work independently as well as in a team-environment.
  • Excel in a fast-paced environment and can manage multiple client engagements simultaneously.
    Requirements
    • 5+ years of experience working with databases, data engineering, and/or software development roles.
    • 3+ years of experience using python and/or SQL for data engineering.
    • Ability to design, develop, and maintain scalable, reusable code, using an agile framework and source control management.
    • Strong problem-solving skills including researching errors, performance issues, query optimization, and general troubleshooting.
    • A proven track record of working collaboratively on complex ELT/ETL projects that span multiple months.
    • Ability to create functioning prototypes to address quickly changing business needs.
    • Clearly articulate pros and cons of proposed technologies/solutions.
        Where You'll Work

        Moser has two offices in Indianapolis, IN, and one in Baltimore, MD. This position will allow hybrid/onsite work schedule or the ability to work out of one of our two Indianapolis offices.
