At OA-SMX as a Senior C++ Software Developer, you'll partner with Solutions Architects to design, develop, and test high-fidelity emulators for SPARC-based flight computers and other mission-critical flight hardware for space launch systems. Working alongside flight and ground software engineers and embedded with our customer's team, you'll integrate emulation capabilities into existing test workflows, optimize applications to meet demanding performance requirements, and build quality into every stage of our development lifecycle through robust CI/CD pipelines. Success in this role demands high proficiency in advanced high performing C++, sharp problem-solving skills, experience in modern production software development techniques, and an ability to work in a collaborative mission focused environment.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with Solutions Architects to design, develop, and test emulators for SPARC-based flight computers and other flight hardware.
  • Work closely with flight and ground software engineers to integrate emulation capabilities with existing development and test workflows.
  • Optimize applications to meet strict performance requirements. Ensure all solutions are thoroughly designed, documented, and tested.
  • Use and contribute to CI/CD pipelines to encode quality within the Software Development Life Cycle.
  • Collaborate with team members and leads to achieve project milestones.
  • Adhere to applicable corporate processes & standards to ensure quality, compliance, and security.

Required Skills & ExperienceΒ 

  • 8+ years experience in high-performance C++ applications software engineering within Linux environments
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related field with equivalent experience
  • US Citizenship is required. Candidate must also participate in a background screen.
  • Ability to document and communicate software designs
  • Familiarity with version control systems such as Git
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills
  • A passion for learning and staying current with industry trends
