Job description

Job Summary
MacLean-Fogg is hiring a Quality Inspector for our Whitewater, Wisconsin manufacturing facility. You will inspect products, analyze quality data, document results, and collaborate with production teams to resolve quality concerns and improve product reliability.
  • Location: Whitewater, WI
  • Work Arrangement: On-site
  • Schedule: 3rd Shift, Monday-Friday, 10:30 PM-7:00 AM
  • Employment Type: Full-time / Hourly
What You'll Do as a Quality Inspector
  • Inspect in-process and finished goods for compliance with work instructions, specifications, and quality standards, including first-piece and final inspections.
  • Perform visual, mechanical, and functional tests using appropriate inspection tools and gaging instruments.
  • Accurately record inspection results and statistical data, enter information into quality management systems, and assist with reporting.
  • Summarize findings, document deviations from established standards, and escalate quality concerns with clear supporting information.
  • Analyze inspection data to identify potential root causes of defects or non-conformance and collaborate on corrective actions.
  • Help develop, write, and update inspection procedures, protocols, and checklists.
  • Perform internal audits and support compliance with applicable regulations, company policies, quality requirements, and safety standards.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement efforts while maintaining a safe, clean, and organized work area using 5S principles.
What You'll Bring
Required Qualifications
  • 2-4 years of relevant experience; no specific formal education credential is required.
  • Ability to interpret and follow detailed work instructions, specifications, and quality standards.
  • Strong attention to detail and the ability to identify defects, deviations, and non-conformities.
  • Basic math skills for working with dimensions, tolerances, and statistical data.
  • Basic knowledge of quality control tools and gaging instruments, including micrometers, calipers, and height gauges.
  • Basic computer skills for entering data and preparing inspection reports.
  • Clear verbal and written communication skills for documenting results and reporting quality concerns.
  • Ability to collaborate with inspectors, production employees, and supervisors and contribute to practical solutions.
Work Environment & Physical Requirements
This role is performed in a manufacturing environment and involves hands-on inspection of in-process and finished goods. Employees use inspection tools and gaging instruments to conduct visual, mechanical, and functional tests while following applicable safety, environmental, and quality procedures.
