Job Summary:
Independent Software, Inc. is focused on applying advanced data science techniques to national security challenges. As a Data Scientist Level 4, you will transform complex datasets into actionable intelligence, develop analytical tools, and enhance operational efficiency.
Responsibilities:
• Apply expertise across multiple data science domains including mathematical, statistical, and computational foundations
• Perform data curation, transformation, visualization, and automation of analytical workflows
• Develop reproducible analytics and optimize inefficient processes and data pipelines
• Analyze large, complex datasets and draw meaningful conclusions using mathematical, statistical, and domain expertise
• Develop analytic models and quantitative techniques for unstructured or incomplete datasets
• Perform statistical modeling, inference, forecasting, and predictive analytics
• Translate mission and analytical requirements into technical data specifications
• Develop tools and visualizations that clearly communicate analytical findings and support operational decision making
• Effectively convey complex technical concepts and analytical results to both technical and non-technical stakeholders
• Leverage experience with SIGINT datasets, RF data, or PROFORMA data to enhance mission analysis and capabilities
Qualifications:
Required:
• Proficiency in Python and experience working within Jupyter Notebooks
• Strong background in machine learning, statistical modeling, and algorithm development
• Experience working with large datasets from multiple sources, including data cleaning, transformation, and analysis
• Experience performing exploratory data analysis, hypothesis testing, and inference modeling
• Familiarity with AI/ML frameworks, data mining techniques, and software engineering principles
• Experience automating workflows and optimizing data pipelines for reproducible analytics
• Experience working with SIGINT datasets, RF data, or PROFORMA data
• Ability to apply advanced analytical methods to complex national security problems
• Bachelor’s degree with 15 years of relevant experience, or
• Associate’s degree with 17 years of relevant experience
• Must possess an active TS SCI with appropriate Polygraph to be considered for this role
