Position Description:
JTEC Consulting is actively hiring Data Scientists, Data Engineers, and Data Analysts to support critical mission requirements for an Intelligence Community (IC) customer in Northern Virginia.
In this role, you will work alongside a high-performing, multi-disciplinary team solving complex data challenges using open-source tools, cloud environments, and advanced analytics. We have multiple open task orders supporting mission-critical activities across data engineering, machine learning, data strategy, and software engineering in fast-paced DevOps environments.
General duties and responsibilities vary by role and may include:
  • Data Pipelines & Engineering: Architect, build, and maintain scalable ETL/ELT pipelines for complex, multi-source structured and unstructured data sets.
  • Advanced Analytics & ML: Perform data mining, exploratory data analysis, and statistical modeling using machine learning techniques to extract actionable insights.
  • Cloud & Database Management: Support data-centric solutions, big data analytics, and data modeling in secure cloud computing and distributed systems.
  • Visualization & Reporting: Translate complex data insights into clear, actionable intelligence using data visualization tools and analytical frameworks.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner directly with mission stakeholders, data engineers, and intelligence analysts in an integrated team environment.

General education and qualification guidelines include:
  • U.S. citizenship
  • Current TS/SCI security clearance with polygraph
  • Local to Wash DC Metro area and available to support on-site work 5 days/week (Northern Virginia locations)
  • Bachelor's degree in Bachelor's degree in Data Science, Data Analytics, Computer Science, Statistics, Operations Research, or a related technical discipline.
  • 5+ years of hands-on technical experience supporting data analytics or data engineering projects within the Intelligence Community (IC).
  • Programming & Tools: Demonstrated hands-on coding proficiency in Python and big data frameworks (e.g., Apache Hadoop, Apache Spark/PySpark, SQL).
  • Technical Breadth: Applied experience in machine learning algorithms, cloud platforms (AWS/Azure), and data visualization software.
  • Communication: Strong technical writing and verbal communication skills with a track record of collaborating across mission teams.

Preferred Skills:
  • Experience deploying data models within DevOps or CI/CD frameworks.
  • Experience handling unstructured text processing, NLP, or graph databases.
  • Familiarity with containerized deployments (Docker, Kubernetes).
