Your role and responsibilities

In this role, you will be a part of transforming how AI factories and data centers are powered and enable the AI revolution. Your responsibility is to lead a growth initiative to develop new business in the data center segment for low voltage system drives business line. A highly technical sales role at the intersection of sales, system collaboration with other ABB units and new product / solution definition. You will ensure that the division and related sales units substantially improve their sales, margins, market share, and customer satisfaction in the data center industry.

The work model for the role is: Hybrid, #LI-Hybrid Candidate will be based out of one of four locations:

  • New Berlin, WI
  • Lake Mary, FL
  • Houston, TX
  • Cary, NC


This role is contributing to the Low Voltage System Drives (LVSD) business line in Motion High Power (MOHP) division with a global focus.

Your role and responsibilities:

  • Leading a growth initiative to develop new business in the data center segment for low voltage system drives business line with a focus on power conversion.
  • Building relationships with key external influencers/key customers (hyperscalers, data center builders) and leverages ABB's strengths to capture new business opportunities.
  • Activating operational intelligence, benchmarking, and analysis to identify industry segment trends, technology evolution, product gaps, competitor strategy, etc.
  • Translating complex technical customer discussions into support needs and action plans for supporting teams in technical sales support, R&D and other divisions.

Qualifications for the role:

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering and 12+ years of experience in a technical sales or customer facing position OR Master's Degree in Electrical Engineering and 10+ years of experience in a technical sales or customer facing position.
  • Experience with Low Voltage Packaged Variable Frequency Drives.
  • You have a strong technical mindset and interest in how power electronics can be used to build more efficient systems in power conversion and distribution.
  • Ability to demonstrate your experience in breaking into new markets or applications in a sales role where complex technical solutions are being defined and developed in collaboration with customers, R&D and product management teams.
  • Extensive knowledge of power electronics in power distribution or conversion such as from marine DC grids, large common DC / multi-motor systems from process industry, BESS, EV charging, wind or solar OR power conversion in data centers.
  • You thrive in a fast-moving, dynamic environment where alternative solutions are constantly explored to improve solutions for our customers
  • You are a senior professional with extensive track record ideally from both sales and technical roles.
  • You are at ease communicating in English.
  • This role involves >50% Domestic and International Travel. A valid US Driver's License and US Passport are required.
  • Candidates must already have work authorization that would permit them to work for ABB in the US.
