Key Responsibilities
Delta Electronics is seeking a highly skilled and customer-focused R&D Engineer to join the ICTBG (Information & Communication Technology Business Group) team supporting Data Center Power Solutions. This role focuses on developing and supporting advanced power infrastructure solutions for hyperscale and colocation (COLO) data center customers across the United States.
The ideal candidate will possess deep expertise in power electronics, data center electrical infrastructure, and customer-facing technical engagement. This individual will work closely with internal cross-functional teams including Sales, Product Management, Engineering, Service, and Design teams, while also interfacing directly with customers to support deployment, troubleshooting, and continuous product improvement initiatives.
Summary:
Delta Electronics' ICT (Information and Communication Technology) Infrastructure business group builds the high-efficiency hardware and software backbone for modern 5G networks, AI computing, and data centers. They provide the critical power, thermal management, and networking systems needed to keep global tech and telecom operations running.
Customer & Technical Support
  • Provide on-site troubleshooting and technical support for Delta data center power products.
  • Support customer operational issues across hyperscale and COLO environments.
  • Collect and investigate the failure and issue information to the factory
  • Travel to customer sites throughout the U.S. approximately twice per month.

Product & System Development
  • Support development and optimization of Delta ICTBG product portfolio including:
    • UPS (Uninterruptible Power Supply)
    • STS (Static Transfer Switch)
    • PDU (Power Distribution Units)
    • RPP (Remote Power Panels)
  • Work within the "gray space" of data center power infrastructure, supporting interoperable power systems and electrical distribution architectures.
  • Collaborate with design and engineering teams to improve the customer experience.

Documentation & Process Development
  • Develop and maintain technical troubleshooting documentation.
  • Standardize SOPs (Standard Operating Procedures) and MOPs (Methods of Procedure).
  • Create documentation related to:
    • Equipment replacement
    • Service tools
    • UPS parameter settings
    • Field troubleshooting processes

Training & Enablement
  • Train and support Field Service Engineers (FSEs).
  • Develop comprehensive technical training materials and knowledge-sharing programs.

Customer Experience & Product Improvement
  • Gather customer feedback, field insights, and user experience (UX) requirements.
  • Collaborate with Product Management and Engineering teams to drive product enhancements and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Translate customer requirements into actionable technical and design recommendations.

Cross-Functional Collaboration
  • Partner closely with:
    • Sales teams
    • Product Managers
    • Service organizations
    • Engineering and Design teams
  • Support technical presentations, customer meetings, and solution development activities.

Minimum Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering (EE) or related field.
  • 3 - 6 Years of of Power Electronics, with strong Low Power and Medium Voltage experience.
  • Hands-on knowledge of data center power infrastructure and critical power systems.
  • Experience supporting or designing:
    • UPS systems
    • STS / Solid Transfer Switches
    • PDU systems
    • RPP systems
  • Strong troubleshooting and root-cause analysis capabilities.
  • Experience working directly with enterprise customers or large-scale data center operators.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
  • Ability to travel domestically up to 25%.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Mandarin language proficiency.
  • Experience supporting hyperscale or colocation data center customers.
  • Knowledge of:
    • BESS (Battery Energy Storage Systems)
    • Microgrid technologies
  • Familiarity with ICT (Information & Communication Technology) infrastructure environments.
  • Experience translating customer UX feedback into product improvements.
