Their services include engineering, procurement, equipment start-up and installation oversight, ensuring reliability and efficiency in data center construction and operations. They provide these electrical infrastructure solutions for many Enterprise Clients, Colocation Providers, AI / HPC, Bitcoin and Hyperscale Companies. We are looking for a Power Systems Applications Controls Engineer to join and support their national sales team. They will act as the subject matter expert on all data center electrical controls and power distribution products, services and solutions. Ideal candidate will possess extensive experience in the Mission Critical Data Center Facilities Industry working with Low / Medium / High Voltage Equipment, Power Transformers, Controls and Monitoring. They will be responsible for preparing electrical equipment proposals from inception to approval, conduct presentations, and briefings with internal and external stakeholders, assist sales team with hopes of closing business, in addition to supporting field service. Candidate will also be expected to develop and maintain positive relationships with existing business partners, end users, general contractors, consultant engineers, OEM vendors, utilities in hopes to generate additional business. A proven track record of consultative data center solutions sales skills are a must.

Responsibilities

  • Review RFQ/RFP requirements and develop compliant proposals including pricing, Bill of Materials (BOMs), drawings, scopes of work, schedules, and technical documentation
  • Develop a thorough understanding of proposed equipment and systems; interpret and modify specifications, one-lines, schematics, and project schedules
  • Partner with sales and customers to develop solutions, negotiate commercial terms, and support revenue and margin objectives
  • Serve as the primary technical lead during quotation reviews, leveling meetings, customer presentations, and consultant discussions
  • Provide application engineering support by recommending products and system solutions that meet customer and operational requirements
  • Build and maintain relationships with customers, consultants, vendors, and internal stakeholders while identifying new business opportunities
  • Manage project plans, schedules, risks, costs, and resources to ensure customer commitments, profitability targets, and delivery expectations are achieved
  • Balance customer expectations with market conditions, vendor lead times, and available solutions to ensure successful project execution
  • Identify specification gaps, value-engineering opportunities, cost-saving initiatives, and alternative solutions that enhance project value
  • Create and review electrical schematics, system diagrams, one-line drawings, and technical submittals
  • Plan and lead factory witness tests, including agenda creation, execution coordination, and customer communication
  • Lead cross-functional teams including engineering, operations, logistics, vendor management, project management, and service organizations
  • Identify, assess, and mitigate commercial, technical, operational, and delivery risks throughout the project lifecycle
  • Track project status, forecasting, and projected wins, providing leadership with actionable updates to support resource planning
  • Coordinate with suppliers at all organizational levels to ensure timely support, accurate costing, and successful project execution
  • Maintain accurate documentation, reporting, and quality records while driving process improvements and operational efficiencies
  • Represent the company in technical meetings, site visits, seminars, and customer-facing engagements
  • Promote a professional, customer-focused approach while performing other duties as assigned

Qualifications:

  • Bachelors in Electrical Engineering or related work equivalent a Huge Plus!
  • 5 to 10 yrs of relevant consultative / Data Center Solutions and Product (UPS, Generators, Parallel Switchgear, PDUs etc.) Power product applications, Low Voltage / Medium Voltage, outside technical sales, and/or Electrical Power sales experience
  • Strong understanding of electrical data center infrastructure and mission-critical environments
  • Excellent analytical skills with the ability to interpret market data and translate into business solutions
  • Ability to read and comprehend electrical schematics and specifications
  • Demonstrates advanced knowledge of concepts, practices, and procedures
  • Demonstrates knowledge of organization's business practices and issues faced and contributes to problem resolution of those issues
  • Experience putting together technical presentations and act as the technical resource during the Quotation / Sales process
  • Belong to / attend local professional organizations (AFCOM , 7x24 , Datacenter Dynamics / DCD , Uptime , DICE / Bisnow, PTC, etc.)
  • Have experience interacting with Engineering Firms, General Contractors, Data Center Providers, Construction Companies, Rep Firms, etc.
  • Have experience providing Critical Facilities OEM equipment and solutions
  • Must be a team player and be able to build long-term relationships with internal and external stakeholders
  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to prioritize
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (PowerPoint, Excel, Word, Outlook, Teams, etc.)
  • Strong presentation and communication skills; to be able to effectively communicate / influence internal and external stakeholders to achieve positive results
  • Demonstrated project leadership, including scheduling, cross-functional collaboration, and milestone tracking
  • Previous military experience a huge plus! Candidates with backgrounds in Electrical/Mechanical roles in the Navy (Nukes, EMN, ETN, MMNs, Seabees), Army (Power Generation), Air Force (Power Production), Generator Techs, Coast Guard, or Army National Guard are highly encouraged to apply
  • Open to travel 20- 30% to attend factory witness tests, client sites, and data center industry conferences
