Data Center Infrastructure Engineering
Location: Chandler, Arizona (Hybrid)
Duration: 12 months CTH
Role Overview
We are seeking an engineer to help design, maintain, improve, and expand the physical infrastructure of a data center. The ideal candidate understands critical power and cooling systems, capacity management, infrastructure projects, and operational resiliency. This role involves working on the physical infrastructure, not the IT hardware or software running within it.
Key Responsibilities
  • Support the design, maintenance, and expansion of data center physical infrastructure.
  • Manage capacity for power, space, and cooling.
  • Analyze infrastructure resiliency, redundancy, and failover capabilities.
  • Contribute to data center construction, upgrades, and commissioning activities.
  • Perform root cause analysis of infrastructure failures.
  • Work with DCIM, monitoring, and engineering metrics.
  • Collaborate with construction teams, utilities, vendors, and facility stakeholders.
  • Partner with Real Estate, Critical Systems, Construction, and Technology teams.
  • Deliver technical solutions that meet availability, redundancy, and quality requirements.
Required Qualifications
  • Strong working knowledge of data center critical infrastructure, including mechanical, electrical, and/or structured cabling systems.
  • Experience supporting budgets and cost controls for data center projects and infrastructure operations.
  • Ability to contribute to data center infrastructure engineering and design activities, including interpreting design standards and identifying implementation risks.
  • Track record of contributing to projects with measurable impact on infrastructure reliability, efficiency, or standardization.
  • Experience applying established engineering standards, operational procedures, and best practices.
  • Professional experience working within a large, complex organization, with an ability to collaborate across teams.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills for presenting technical and operational information.
  • Experience defining, tracking, and using operational and engineering metrics to support data-driven decision making.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Typically 5+ years of experience in Data Center, Critical Systems, or related infrastructure engineering disciplines.
  • Experience supporting data center engineering, construction, upgrades, or integration activities within a large or multi-site environment.
  • Working knowledge of risk assessment and availability concepts for data centers or colocation environments.
  • Solid understanding of data center technologies and associated monitoring and infrastructure management tools (e.g., power, cooling, DCIM).
  • Experience compiling and contributing to site assessments, infrastructure health evaluations, and facility upgrade planning.
  • Working knowledge of root-cause failure analysis related to critical systems equipment.
  • Familiarity with working with Authorities Having Jurisdiction (AHJs) to support compliance with applicable codes and regulations.
  • Foundational understanding of network design and layout as it relates to data center infrastructure.
