Job description

About this role:
CBRE is the global leader in commercial real estate and data center management. We operate the largest portfolio of mission-critical facilities in the world. Our teams keep the digital economy running around the clock without interruption.
We are seeking a Data Center Team Leader to lead one of our specialized technical operations. This critical role requires a professional with deep, hands-on data center experience. You must understand complex infrastructure like cooling systems, redundant power supplies, and strict uptime requirements.
In this role, your technical expertise will directly protect our clients' most valuable digital assets. You will lead skilled engineering teams and manage complex vendor networks. Your background in critical environments will ensure we maintain our industry-leading operational standards.
What You'll Do:
Oversee and inspect the work performed by engineering staff. Ensure that work is complete, equipment is fully functional, and client space is in prime working condition.
Review monthly service request summaries to identify and address recurrent operational problems.
Formulate and implement a preventative maintenance program to ensure that building machinery and systems meet or exceed their rated life.
Inspect building systems including fire alarms, HVAC, and plumbing to ensure the operation of equipment is within design capabilities and achieves environmental conditions prescribed by the client.
Review assigned work orders. Estimate time and materials needed to complete repairs. Maintain an inventory of adequate supplies and tools and order necessary materials.
Assist team with complex repairs, emergencies, and preventive maintenance.
Apply advanced knowledge to seek and develop new, better methods for accomplishing both individual and department objectives.
Showcase expertise in own job discipline and in-depth knowledge of other job disciplines within the organization function.
Coach others to develop in-depth knowledge and expertise in most or all areas within the function.
Lead by example and model behaviors that are consistent with CBRE RISE values. Anticipate potential objections and persuade others, often at senior levels and of divergent interest, to adopt a different point of view. Impact the achievement of customer, operational, project, or service objectives across multi-discipline teams. Work is guided by functional policies which impact the design of procedures and policies.
Contribute to new products, processes, standards, and/or operational plans in support of achieving functional goals.
Communicate difficult and complex ideas with the ability to influence.
What You'll Need:
High School Diploma, GED, or trade school diploma with 4-5 years of job-related experience. In lieu of a diploma, a combination of experience and education will be considered. Prior shift manager or supervisory experience preferred.
Meet the physical requirements of this role including stooping, standing, walking, climbing stairs/ladders, and the ability to lift/carry heavy loads of 50 lbs. or more.
Willingness to take a new perspective on existing solutions.
In-depth knowledge of Microsoft Office products. Examples include Word, Excel, Outlook, etc. Organizational skills with an advanced inquisitive mindset. Sophisticated math skills. Ability to calculate mildly complex figures such as percentages, fractions, and other financial-related calculations.
Ability to impact a range of customer, operation, project, or service activities within own team and other related teams. Capability to work within broad guidelines and policies. Proficiency in coaching others and sharing in-depth knowledge of own job discipline and broad knowledge of several job disciplines within the function. Skill in leading by example and modeling behaviors that are consistent with CBRE RISE values. Ability to build consensus and convince others to reach an agreement
