Key Accountabilities:
  • Serves as an operations SME for a major area of operations (e.g., electrical or mechanical) and provides oversight and training/mentorship to team members on tasks regarding these subsystems
  • Demonstrates solid understanding of and operates equipment and systems across all disciplines (e.g., electrical, mechanical) with knowledge of the interactions between them and overall operation of a data center.
  • Operates all systems and equipment in accordance with Serverfarm, industry and OSHA safety practices and protocols.
  • Supports site/campus team in the inspection and supervision of critical environment-related facility equipment (e.g., controls, HVAC, electrical and mechanical systems)
  • Assists in and monitors the performance from central monitoring locations (i.e., Facility Operations Centers) of maintenance and operations of equipment (e.g., electrical, mechanical, fire/life safety) and understands risks or impacts to other subsystems across the data center.
  • Quickly responds to and supports site/campus incident response team for all abnormal conditions that impact operations, and coordinates with the team to perform corrective repairs, without supervision.
  • Works with site/campus leadership to gather necessary information and creates incident timelines/data, root cause analyses, and/or action items following an abnormal condition as required.
  • Develops new or follows preexisting emergency operating procedures (EOPs), methods of procedure (MOPs), standard operating procedures (SOPs), and digital methods of operating procedures (DMOPs) to support site operations and incident response.
  • Work with the Construction & Project team to ensure ServerFarm Data center's site meets all required statutory and mandatory requirements.
  • Ensure all site MEP infrastructure operates within defined capacity standards.
  • Work with peers in global structure to coordinate all processes and align as appropriate.
  • Support Change, Incident Management, and Problem Resolution process for area of responsibility. Ensure this process covers all work.
  • Work with site/campus leadership to develop and grow talent within the team.
  • Supports site/campus team in all major and minor project works.
  • Work with site/campus leadership to ensure healthy and safe working conditions.

Required Skills
  • Associate degree or technical trade certification (e.g., military, trade school), or Journeyman level training AND 5+ years of experience in mission-critical services (e.g., high-availability assembly/manufacturing/critical infrastructure environments such as data centers, oil and gas refineries, hospitals, pharmaceutical, manufacturing, or related fields)
  • Familiar with the use of Microsoft Office applications.
  • Good communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Committed to the delivery of excellent customer service. Self-motivated delivery of admin tasks Self-motivated, ability to work on own initiative. Punctual and reliable. Ability to work under pressure, with changing, and often conflicting, priorities to meet deadlines. A team player, able to work with SFR staff of all levels. Able to make sound decisions when needed.
