The Csquare Data Center Facilities Electrical Lead is responsible for planning, maintenance, and documentation of critical infrastructure operations. The Electrical Lead ensures effective oversight of all contractor activity and maintains fiscal responsibility of projects. On-call rotation to provide emergency response required. Shift, evening, and weekend work expected.
Primary Responsibilities
  • Support maintenance and repair of data center infrastructure per Centersquare standards.
  • Maintain site technical documentation and as-built drawings as required.
  • Maintain professional vendor relationships.
  • Work with Engineering to support capital improvement projects.
  • Perform assigned tasks as part of a project team.
  • Respond to both internal and external work requests within a timely manner delivering a high level of support.
  • Comprehensive understanding of building systems to be able to recommend improvements needed to reach the highest operational integrity and energy efficiency (Power Utilization Efficiency - PUE).
  • Ensure 24X7 availability/uptime of all mission critical infrastructure.
  • Perform daily rounds throughout the data center and property to ensure site integrity.
  • Monitor building management systems, other automated tools, and applications to ensure operational efficiencies and compliance with service level agreements (SLAs).
  • Ensure compliance with various industry data center accreditations.
  • Understand, comprehend, and implement written method of procedures (MOPs).
  • Identify and troubleshoot the root cause of problems.
  • Perform the verification of customer installation activities.
  • Provide technical support to Sales, customers, and others to support the business.
  • Establish cost estimates and participate in the procurement processes in support of operations and pricing activities.
  • Develop Budget & Resource Management (BRM), and Capital Project budgets and track for efficient use of resources.
  • Effective/efficient use of corporate assets.
  • Support the Site Operations Manager in the evaluation of space and power capacity requests.
  • Share technical knowledge and operational experience with team members to promote professional growth and cross training of staff.
  • As a member of an on-call rotation, provide emergency response as needed. Shift, evening, weekend, and occasional overtime work required.
  • Ability to lift equipment up to 45 pounds. Standing, bending, kneeling, working from ladders and climbing stairs as needed to perform daily tasks.
  • Assume the Site Manager's duties during his/her absence.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Experience & Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in a technical field or 5+ years of experience in a data center environment.
  • Military training or technical certifications in electrical studies desired.
  • Certification in Facilities Management or equivalent desired.
  • Electrical License or other credential may be required based on location.
  • Extensive operational knowledge of electrical distribution, such as, switchgear, generators, UPS's, PDU's, and fire detection/suppression systems.
  • Operational experience with data center critical infrastructure equipment (i.e., CRAC/CRAH, RTU, chilled water systems, containment, and air balancing).
  • Individual should be a self-starter with problem solving skills and able to carry out responsibilities with minimal supervision.
  • Excellent organizational and communication skills.
  • Ability to work with multiple vendors.
  • Maintain facilities related documentation.
  • Proficient with Office products, ticketing system, computer aided design, and other applications.
  • Familiarity of local/national regulatory codes, guidelines, and permit processes.
  • Proficiency with basic electrical calculations.
  • Ability to pass security clearance and/or background check via government or similar agency may be required.
