The position will provide strategic leadership and advanced technical oversight for mission-critical data center operations supporting a high-priority federal initiative. This role requires deep expertise in Department of Defense (DoD) and U.S. Air Force environments, with a strong emphasis on secure, resilient, and efficient IT infrastructure managementWork Location:Completely onsite in Honolulu, HI.

Basic Required Qualifications and Skills: Note: These are mandatory items that all candidates must have when submitting an application to IMC for this position. Please ensure that your submission addresses each of these requirement items. Candidates without these required elements will not be considered.

  • Bachelorโ€™s degree in a relevant discipline from an accredited institution of higher learning.
  • Minimum of 10 years of senior-level experience in DoD data center management.
  • At start date, must possess one or more of the following certifications in ACTIVE status:
    • Project Management Professional (PMP)
    • VMware Certified Professional (VCP)
    • Certified Information Systems Auditor (CISA)
    • Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP)
    • Certified Information Security Manager (CISM)
  • Strong background in network architecture/engineering, enterprise IT infrastructure, and secure data center operations.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage complex technical projects within DoD or large-scale enterprise IT environments.
  • Proven experience in technical training and mentorship.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to provide executive-level reporting and technical advisement to senior leadership.
  • Self-motivated with the ability to stay focused, organized, and plan work independently or collaboratively in a rapidly changing environment.
  • Analytical mindset with attention to detail, accuracy, and consistent follow-through.
  • Extensive leadership experience with the ability to command the respect of strong-willed technical personnel.

Desired Qualifications and Skills: It is desirable that the candidate have the following qualifications:

  • Masterโ€™s degree in a relevant discipline from an accredited institution of higher learning.
  • Minimum of 10 years of senior-level experience in Air Force data center management.
  • Any of the following certifications:
    • ITIL 4 Foundation or higher
    • AWS Certified Solutions Architect โ€“ Professional
    • Microsoft Azure Solutions Architect โ€“ Professional
    • Cisco Certified Internetwork Expert (CCIE) certification.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities: This position will include, but is not limited to, the following tasks:

  • Direct all aspects of data center operations, including capacity management, system availability, performance optimization, and compliance with DoD standards and RMF/ATO requirements.
  • Integrate facility management considerations (power, cooling, cabling, and space utilization) into IT planning, modernization, and sustainment.
  • Oversee technical program and project management, including requirements definition, scheduling, configuration/change management, risk management, and documentation.
  • Provide technical training, mentorship, and oversight to military, government civilian, and contractor staff to enhance operational readiness.
  • Develop, maintain, and enforce documentation, SOPs, configuration baselines, and continuity of operations plans (COOP) to ensure mission assurance and rapid recovery.
  • Advise senior leadership on emerging technologies, cloud/hybrid strategies, cybersecurity risks, and modernization initiatives affecting enterprise data center operations.
  • Ensure compliance with cybersecurity directives (STIGs, IAVMs, DoD Cybersecurity service provider guidelines) as part of daily operations.
  • Serve as the senior technical point of escalation for mission-critical issues, coordinating with higher headquarters and joint partners as required.
  • Other duties as assigned.
