Job description


The Data Center Facilities Systems Manager is responsible for overseeing the operation, maintenance, and reliability of all critical facility infrastructure supporting the client's mission-critical data center environment. This role ensures the continuous performance and uptime of mechanical, electrical, HVAC, and building automation systems, including chillers, cooling towers, CRAC/CRAH units, UPS systems, generators, and electrical distribution equipment. The manager is responsible for leading facility operations teams, managing budgets and vendor relationships, coordinating preventative and corrective maintenance programs, and ensuring compliance with safety, regulatory, and operational standards. The position plays a critical role in maintaining 24/7 operational readiness, system resiliency, and business continuity across the facility.
Job Responsibilities
  • Oversee the operation and reliability of critical facility infrastructure, including HVAC, electrical, UPS, generator, and cooling systems.
  • Monitor and optimize building automation, mechanical, and electrical systems to maximize performance and efficiency.
  • Maintain 24/7 facility uptime through incident response, risk mitigation, and business continuity planning.
  • Lead, develop, and support facilities engineers, technicians, and operations staff.
  • Manage vendors, maintenance contracts, budgets, and capital improvement projects.
  • Direct preventive and predictive maintenance programs for critical infrastructure systems.
  • Ensure compliance with safety, environmental, and regulatory requirements.

Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Facilities Management, or a related field; equivalent experience considered.
  • 3-5+ years of experience managing critical facilities, data centers, or building infrastructure systems, including leadership responsibilities.
  • Strong understanding of HVAC, chilled water systems, generators, UPS systems, electrical distribution, and BAS/BMS controls.
  • Facility operations, maintenance management, incident response, budgeting, vendor management, and team leadership.
  • Certifications: CFM, FMP, OSHA, HVAC, electrical, or other relevant industry certifications preferred.
  • Ability to lift, bend, climb, walk, stand for extended periods, and utilize required PPE.
  • Certifications: Professional credentials such as PMP, ITIL, or Six Sigma are desirable, but not required.
