What you will do

Clarios is building the world's leading connected battery intelligence platform, combining hardware, IoT, and AI-driven analytics to transform how energy is monitored, managed, and monetized.

As part of this journey, we are entering the data center market-where exponential AI-driven power demand is reshaping backup energy strategies across hyperscale, colocation, and enterprise environments.

The Direct Data Center Sales Director will lead this new vertical, owning strategy, pipeline, and revenue growth. This role is responsible for defining the go-to-market approach, securing early anchor customers, and scaling recurring connected services offerings.

This is a high-impact leadership role within a startup-like business unit, offering the opportunity to build a new market from the ground up while leveraging Clarios' global scale and technology leadership.

How you will do it

1. Strategy & Market Development

  • Define and execute the data center vertical strategy, including segmentation (hyperscale, colocation, enterprise).
  • Size the market opportunity (TAM/SAM/SOM) and develop a 5-year growth and revenue plan.
  • Identify and prioritize target customers, partners, and ecosystem players.
  • Represent Clarios in industry forums and build market presence.
  • Establish a strong voice-of-customer (VOC) feedback loop to inform product and commercial strategy.

2. Customer & Revenue Ownership

  • Own pipeline creation, deal execution, and bookings for strategic accounts (e.g., hyperscalers, colocation providers, large enterprise data center operators).
  • Drive adoption of recurring revenue models for digital service subscriptions.
  • Lead complex, multi-stakeholder negotiations and close multi-year enterprise deals.
  • Secure and scale anchor customers to establish credibility and reference ability in the market.
  • Deliver defined revenue and pipeline targets aligned with Connected Services growth objectives.

3. Team Leadership & Execution

  • Partner closely with Product, AI/ML, Hardware, and Platform teams to translate customer needs into scalable solutions.
  • Develop go-to-market playbooks, pricing models, and sales enablement frameworks.
  • Define performance metrics, and operating cadence to drive execution discipline.
  • Ensure alignment across global teams to deliver consistent and scalable customer outcomes.

What we look for

Required

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Engineering, or related field; MBA preferred
  • 10+ years of experience in business development, enterprise sales, or new market expansion

  • Proven track record of:
    • Building and scaling new business verticals
    • Closing large, complex enterprise deals ($1M+ ACV preferred)
    • Driving recurring revenue models (SaaS, or subscription-based services)
    • Strong strategic, analytical, and market development capabilities
    • Executive presence with ability to influence senior stakeholders internally and externally
    • Demonstrated ability to operate effectively in ambiguous, fast-paced, startup-like environments
    • Excellent leadership, communication, and negotiation skills

Preferred

  • Experience selling into data center, mission-critical infrastructure, energy storage, or adjacent industries (e.g., UPS systems, DCIM, backup power) strongly preferred

What you get:

  • Medical, dental and vision care coverage and a 401(k) savings plan with company matching - all starting on date of hire

  • Tuition reimbursement, perks, and discounts

  • Parental and caregiver leave programs

  • All the usual benefits such as paid time off, flexible spending, short-and long-term disability, basic life insurance, business travel insurance, and Employee Assistance Program
