Job description

Business Overview:
Neuberger is building a high-performance Secondary Data Strategy capability to strengthen data quality, analytical insight, and scalable reporting across its private markets secondaries platform. The team focuses on creating reliable, well-structured data assets that support investment workflows, underwriting, reporting, and broader business decision-making.
Position Overview:
The Private Markets Secondary Data Associate is a junior onshore hire for the Secondary Data Strategy team. This role is execution-focused, with primary responsibility for deal-economics structuring, pricing and underwriting database population, and GP and fund name normalization. The individual will work closely with the offshore counterpart to support consistent, high-quality data capture and structuring across core secondaries workflows.
Primary Responsibilities:
  • Capture, structure, and maintain deal-economics and underwriting-related data within designated databases and workflows.
  • Populate pricing and underwriting datasets accurately and consistently, supporting downstream analysis and reporting needs.
  • Normalize GP, fund, and related entity naming conventions to improve consistency across internal systems and outputs.
  • Review source materials and extract relevant financial and deal data with a high degree of accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Partner with the offshore counterpart to coordinate execution, resolve data inconsistencies, and maintain agreed standards for data quality.
  • Support ongoing updates and maintenance of structured data repositories used by investment and business stakeholders.
  • Escalate exceptions, ambiguous cases, and data quality issues appropriately while helping improve standard operating procedures.
  • Contribute to process efficiency by identifying repeatable data capture patterns and opportunities for structured workflow improvements.

Experience & Skills Qualifications:
  • 2-4+ years of relevant experience in data capture, financial data operations, investment data management, or a related function.
  • Strong data structuring capabilities and exceptional attention to detail.
  • Familiarity with financial or deal-related data and comfort working with structured and semi-structured information sources.
  • Ability to manage high-volume data capture work while maintaining quality and consistency.
  • Strong organizational skills and a disciplined, execution-oriented approach to work.

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Familiarity with CapIQ, PitchBook, Preqin, and Bloomberg.
  • Proficiency in Excel and working familiarity with SQL, VBA and Python.
  • Exposure to private markets, alternative investments, or related financial datasets

Compensation Details
The salary range for this role is $120,000-$150,000. This is the lowest to highest salary we in good faith believe we would pay for this role at the time of this posting. We may ultimately pay more or less than the posted range, and the range may be modified in the future. This range is only applicable for jobs to be performed in the job posting location. An employee's pay position within the salary range will be based on several factors including, but limited to, relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, geographic location, business sector, performance, shift, travel requirements, sales or revenue-based metrics, market benchmarking data, any collective bargaining agreements, and business or organizational needs. This job is also eligible for a discretionary bonus, which, along with base salary and retirement contributions, is part of our total comprehensive package. We offer a comprehensive package of benefits including paid time off, medical/dental/vision insurance, retirement, life insurance and other benefits to eligible employees.
