Health Services Data Analyst Senior

Location: This role requires associates be in the office 1-2 days per week, fostering collaboration and connectivity, while providing flexibility to support productivity and work-life balance. This approach combines structured office engagement with the autonomy of virtual work, promoting a dynamic and adaptable workplace.

The Health Services Data Analyst Senior monitors and evaluates quality of complex and/or highly sensitive health care programs related to supporting Connecticut HUSKY Health Medicaid behavioral health services, quality measurement and performance improvement, including major initiatives such as Rural Health Transformation, the 1115 Substance Use Waiver, the CCBHC, and related to supporting Child and Family Division.

How you will make an Impact:

  • Participate in development, maintenance, and reporting in the Quality Management Project Plan, Performance Targets, PAR program profiles and other contractual obligations.

  • Prepares and communicates information to appropriate parties regarding health care programs and their level of quality.

  • Recommends changes in areas of deficiency to bring area up to government and company regulations and standards.

  • Creates and maintains databases to track business performance.

  • Analyzes data and summarizes performance using summary statistical procedures.

  • Develops and analyzes business performance reports (e.g. for claims data, provider data, utilization data) and provides notations of performance deviations and anomalies.

  • May require taking business issue and devising best way to develop appropriate diagnostic and/or tracking data that will translate business requirements into usable decision support tools.

  • Supports the Connecticut Initiative through data analysis, reporting, and quality-measurement activities. Develops, maintains, and enhances provider-facing dashboards to support performance monitoring and quality improvement.

Minimum Requirements:

Requires B.A. or B.S degree; with 4-6 years related experience; or any combination of education and experience, which would provide an equivalent background.

Preferred Skills, Experiences and Competencies:

  • Expertise in quality assurance, checking, validating, analyzing, and visualizing data that drives results, encourages strategic decision-making, improves quality outcomes, and provides answers to population health questions.

  • Experience using SAS statistical software to analyze data and create queries.

  • Experience developing, maintaining, and enhancing interactive Tableau dashboards.

  • Medicaid claims experience, preferably involving behavioral health claims data.

  • Knowledge of behavioral health system of care in Connecticut.

  • Moderate to advanced Excel skills.

  • Experience analyzing program outcomes and performance trends to identify quality-improvement opportunities.

  • Experience presenting data findings and providing dashboard training to internal stakeholders, state partners and provider organizations.

  • Knowledge of Medicaid quality measures and integrated care programs.
