Job description

Compensation and Benefits:
  • Compensation: Starting pay rate of $17.50 - $17.56, actual wage will be adjusted based on experience
  • Benefits: Seasonal position eligible for a season pass for employee/dependents and privileges at several other resorts. Several discount programs (i.e. food & beverage, retail/rental, tickets, etc.) also available.

Job Summary:
We are looking for customer driven individuals that have broad product knowledge to answer questions and supply guests with accurate product information and help customers make decisions and find resolutions to their needs within the retail shop. The retail sales associate will oversee the daily operations of a small shop/outlet and/or carry out the receiving of merchandise for a retail shop/outlet.
Summary of Key Responsibilities:
Responsibilities and essential job functions include but are not limited to the following:
  • Protect company assets
  • Know and enforce safety program consistent with company guidelines
  • Be familiar with and knowledgeable of company policies and procedures
  • Coordinate and oversee all daily operations of the assigned shop or department
  • Perform duties of a receiving clerk:
    • check received merchandise against orders
    • process receiving invoices to accounting office
    • confer regularly with accounting to resolve problems or explain special circumstances
    • contact suppliers regarding incorrect or incomplete shipments
    • maintain files of all vendors
    • process transfers of merchandise to other retail outlets
  • Perform other special tasks, such as:
    • entering new orders into computer system
    • running tickets for all merchandise
    • organizing tickets by vendor
    • overseeing the ticketing of merchandise
    • performing other computer data entry work related to inventory transfers, etc.
  • Perform cashier duties:
    • operate point of sale system
    • process credit card payments
    • process merchandise returns
  • Assist customers:
    • locate products
    • answer a variety of questions about products
    • place special orders
    • determine if merchandise may be returned
    • handle problems or complaints, referring to supervisor or other senior staff member if appropriate
  • Check in and ticket merchandise
  • Stock/restock sale areas with merchandise
  • Reorder stock, or maintain records of items needed to be ordered
  • Clean and organize shop
  • Perform stock inventories
  • Inform supervisor of items that are popular/unpopular
  • Make up window and other special merchandise displays
  • Provide superior service to our customers (internal and external) at all times Follow the Resort Etiquette Guidelines while interacting with the guest and respond to all guests in a courteous, efficient manner
  • Perform other tasks as assigned

Basic Qualifications
  • Basic education (high school)
  • One to three years of relevant sales experience, or a combination of education and experience from which comparable knowledge and skills are acquired
  • Must be at least 16 years of age
  • Must be able to stand for at least 7 hours
  • Must be able to push/pull at least 40 pounds

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
  • Good, basic reading, writing and math skills
  • Familiarity with the specific type of merchandise sold in the shop desirable
  • Retail sales experience
  • Previous experience with soft goods or hard goods a plus, but not required
  • Must be guest service oriented
  • Ability to deal effectively and courteously with customers and other company personnel
