Job description

Job Title: Multi-Skilled Operator II
Duration: 1 year initially with possibility of extension
Schedule: 12-hour rotating shift; 7 days on / 7 days off; day and night shifts
Location: Loving, NM
This opportunity supports condensate stabilizing operations in an oil and gas production environment, with responsibility for safe, efficient plant performance across stabilizer trains, compressors, boilers and transfer systems. The role offers broad operational exposure across production monitoring, troubleshooting, sampling, measurement and remote well supervision, while contributing to production optimisation, regulatory activity and day-to-day facility reliability.
Required Education:
  • Associate's degree, trade certification or higher in Production Technology, Process Technology or a related technical field, or foreign equivalent
Required Experience:
  • 3-5 years of experience in the oil and gas industry
  • Practical experience working in plant or production operations involving condensate, natural gas liquids, compressors, pumps, tanks or related process equipment
  • Experience working rotating shifts, including day and night schedules, with flexibility to support overtime during turnarounds, start-ups, facility upsets or workload demands
  • Ability to travel up to 10% annually as required
Required Skills:
  • Must live within 50 miles max from Loving, New Mexico
  • Strong commitment to health, safety, environmental and process safety standards, including safe operation of condensate stabilizing facilities
  • Ability to monitor and operate stabilizer trains, compressors, vapor compressor units, fuel-fired boilers, unloading pumps, transfer pumps, positive displacement pipeline pumps and LACT units
  • Experience loading and unloading condensate and NGL trucks and carrying out operational sampling such as copper strip tests, BS&W shake out and Reid vapor pressure testing
  • Intermediate understanding of fractionation principles and practices
  • Basic understanding of gas and liquid measurement, product drying and sweetening
  • Basic knowledge of plant mechanics and instrumentation
  • Ability to troubleshoot operational issues, complete housekeeping tasks and maintain accurate operational records
  • Ability to use a laptop and applicable software programs for daily volumes, well tests, downtime, injection data and compressor downtime reporting
  • Ability to monitor production inputs in electronic data capture systems and compare input and output data for accuracy
  • Ability to inspect tanks and piping for leaks or unusual conditions and take corrective action
  • Capability to gauge tanks for sale or transfer of crude oil and water
  • Ability to optimise production, compressor runtime and operating costs within area of control
  • Ability to perform minor hands-on equipment repairs and maintain chemical injection rates as needed
  • Ability to prepare accurate and legible reports and read production and financial reports
  • Ability to respond to visual and audible alarms, follow written and verbal instructions, and adapt positively to operational challenges
  • Ability to work outdoors in adverse weather, access remote locations, climb up to 30 feet, and carry out physical tasks including walking, bending, stooping, lifting, pushing and pulling
  • Ability to operate a company-provided vehicle in support of job duties
