Position Summary:

The Senior Manager, Data Architecture & Technology, is the technical delivery leader responsible for designing, building, and scaling Samyang America’s enterprise data platform, including a cloud-based data lake and integration architecture.

This role is responsible for turning fragmented data across systems into a reliable, scalable, and governed data foundation that powers analytics, strategy, and business decision-making. The position will manage a small internal team and external engineering partners to deliver a modern, future-ready data ecosystem.

Key Responsibilities:

Data Architecture & Platform Design

  • Design, development, and implementation of SYA enterprise data architecture, including data pipelines, data orchestration, data lakes and integration layers.

  • Define and govern data models, structures, and standards to ensure scalability, flexibility, and usability across the organization.

  • Establish architecture that supports both real-time and batch data processing.

Data Engineering & Integration

  • Oversee development of data ingestion, transformation, and orchestration pipelines across systems (ERP, CRM, marketing, finance, etc.).

  • Ensure seamless integration of internal and external data sources into a unified environment.

  • Optimize data flows for performance, reliability, and cost efficiency.

Data Lake Implementation

  • Lead day-to-day execution of the data lake build, partnering with external vendors and engineering teams.

  • Ensure delivery against milestones, technical requirements, and business needs.

  • Validate architecture decisions to ensure long-term scalability and maintainability.

Data Governance & Quality

  • Establish frameworks for data quality, data catalog, and governance policies across systems.

  • Define data ownership, lineage, and access models.

  • Accountable for delivering data and analytic governance KPIs.

  • Partner with business teams to ensure data is trustworthy and actionable.

Team & Vendor Management

  • Manage internal resources, including:

    • Data Architect

    • Data Engineer

  • Direct and control external vendors and system integrators to ensure delivery of technology, data, and analytic solutions align with the SYA platform vision.

  • Ensure alignment between internal priorities and external delivery teams.

· Enforce documentation, code quality, and knowledge transfer standards.

Requirements:

  • 8+ years of experience in data engineering, data architecture, or enterprise data platform development.

  • Hands-on experience building and deploying data lakes or modern data platforms.

  • Strong knowledge of cloud environments (AWS, Azure, or GCP).

  • Experience designing data pipelines, ETL/ELT processes, and data models.

  • Proven ability to manage technical teams and external vendors.

Preferred:

  • Experience with platforms such as Snowflake, Databricks, Redshift, BigQuery.

  • Familiarity with orchestration tools (e.g., Airflow) and modern data stack components.

  • Experience integrating ERP, CRM, and marketing systems.

  • Background in consumer goods, retail, or supply chain environments.

Leadership Attributes:

  • Systems thinker - designs for scale, not just immediate needs

  • Hands-on builder - comfortable going deep technically when needed

  • Execution-focused - delivers complex infrastructure projects

  • Collaborative partner - works across IT and business functions

This role builds the foundation of Samyang's data capability. Without it, analytics and AI cannot scale. With it, the company gains a single source of truth and a platform for competitive advantage.

The base salary for this position is between $120,000.00 and $140,000.00 per year. Actual compensation will depend on a variety of factors, including qualifications, experience, and location. This position may also be eligible for additional compensation and benefits, including an annual incentive bonus, medical/dental/vision insurance, life insurance, PTO/FTO, and a 401(k) plan with company match.
