Senior Data Architect The Company

Your Day-to-Day

IMPORTANT: This position is based in Beaverton, Oregon, and requires office attendance.

  • Partner with information architecture to build logical/canonical, dimensional and physical data models for Databricks, Snowflake and Hive bigdata implementations to support data, BI Analytics and AI/ML products aligned with conceptual data models
  • Work with product teams to define data sources by partnering with information and enterprise architecture.
  • Work with product teams to define Key Performance Indicators and supporting data attributes and business rules      
  • Work with product teams to ensure data meets business requirements
  • Optimize data designs and rationalize data objects across data products to reduce data redundancies and duplication
  • Analyze existing data stores and interfaces to support current state and future data models
  • Work with engineering squads to create physical data designs and business rule implementation
  • Partner with enterprise data management and strategy on business glossary implementation and governance and stewardship
  • Work with report developers to align dataset design with report design
  • Partner with information architecture to provide feedback on conceptual models and review logical and physical data models
  • Partner with information architecture on naming standards
  • Provide data consistency across multiple scrum teams within a capability
  • Facilitate data requirements elicitation and modeling sessions including use of interview, document analysis, workshops etc.
  • Provide guidance and partner with squads by applying knowledge of data design
  • Assist with the development and enforcement of data modeling standards 
  • Participate in data definition and data management reviews
  • Partner with source system on new initiatives and enhancements
  • Interface with transformational initiatives
  • Partner with engineering and information architect on integrated/aggregated layer guidelines
  • Establish and maintain processes to support and grow data modelling practices

Must-have Skills
  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Computer Science or equivalent 
  • 7+ years of experience working in technology, preferably in BI and Analytics
  • 5 years' experience in Data Modelling and design 
  • 5 years of experience in data analysis, business analysis or system analysis
  • Experience using CA Erwin or Hackolade other similar modelling tool
  • Strong knowledge of relational and dimensional data modelling concepts
  • Strong knowledge of data architecture and database structure
  • Strong data analysis skills
  • Strong SQL skills 
  • Experience with big data and cloud with Databricks & Snowflake is preferred 
  • Experience, interest and adaptability to working in an Agile delivery environment. 
  • Ability to work in a fast paced environment where change is a constant
  • Ability to handle ambiguous requirements
  • Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills (written and verbal)
  • Self-motivated and collaborative
