Works closely with business and technology leadership to establish an architectural framework and facilitate the definition of data strategy, standards, policies and roadmaps. Provides cross-cutting data, reporting and catalog architecture coverage across the Xtime portfolio and its net-new delivery teams, partnering with the portfolio's Principal Architect and Integrations Architect to maintain a coherent architectural direction.
Role Focus
  • Data architecture and the reporting platform across the Xtime portfolio.
  • Product catalog - parts, services, and ops menus.
  • Drives data strategy across Xtime teams as a horizontal, pattern-setting authority rather than a single-team assignment.

Primary Duties / Key Responsibilities
General Responsibilities
  • Collaborates with business, engineering and product stakeholders to drive holistic architectural design across the data, reporting and catalog areas described below.
  • Monitors industry and the competition for solution-focused technical and process changes and advances.

  • Helps define reference architecture and patterns others follow to create and improve data systems across Xtime teams.
  • Collaborates with data users, software and other technical stakeholders to structure effective data flows - from generation through transition to application.
  • Architects the product catalog domain - parts, services and ops menus - including its data model, sourcing and governance.

Reporting Platform & Actionable Reporting
  • Owns the architecture of the reporting platform that powers dealer, dealer-group and OEM reporting across the portfolio.
  • Defines patterns for OEM and dealer-group data feeds and report requests (e.g., multi-media reporting and OEM data feeds, service-pricing and parts/labor reporting).
  • Evaluates performance, security, reliability, operations, technology and interoperability requirements, producing high-level design deliverables that enable development teams to build flexible, scalable and secure reporting solutions.
  • Creates proofs of concept to determine the viability of new or different data and reporting technologies.

Systems Architecture
  • Provides systems architecture advice and support for the data, reporting and catalog domains across the Xtime product portfolio and its net-new teams.
  • Works with portfolio stakeholders and customers to align the architectural direction of the solution intent.
  • Drives structuring of the product vision, roadmap, priorities, enabler capabilities, non-functional requirements and solution demo activities for the data and reporting platform.
  • Engages with cross-functional partners on PI planning, Architecture Sync, solution capability demonstrations, release management and alignment of technologies across initiatives.
  • Consults with architecture, development, infrastructure and operational teams to address issues relating to systems/application architecture, including performance and availability.

Required Experience & Skills
  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, Management Information Systems, or a related discipline and 10 years' experience in a related field. The right candidate could also have a different combination, such as master's degree and 8 years' experience; a Ph.D. and 5 years' experience in a related field; or 22 years' experience in a related field
  • 10+ years of experience in full development life cycle, architecture design, and platform implementations
  • Comes from a data architecture discipline / background, with demonstrated experience delivering enterprise scale ETL and reporting solutions
  • Experience designing cloud architectures (preferably AWS, also GCP/Azure)

  • Strong problem-solving, analytical, and strategic thinking skills
  • 5+ years architecture delivery and storytelling with ability to convey complex technical concepts to diverse audiences including business and technology leadership
