As part of our exciting growth, we are currently searching for a Manager, Architectural Design.

This individual will work directly with the internal and external design teams, contractors, platform delivery and operations departments to ensure technical compliance of installed systems against existing standards. This role requires strong technical and communication skills to ensure that all critical systems operate synchronously. A successful Architecture Manager with Aligned will possess a hunger to drive efficiencies and innovation, the humility to understand we are all working together during the construction process, and a heart to provide exceptional service to both internal and external customers, and vendors.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Design
    • Review and responsibility for civil, structural, and architectural standards and updates
    • Review of responsibility of DEC with regards to building code updates and compliance
    • Review and responsibility for each phase of design deliverable
    • Support content preparation and presentation to achieve Aligned business approvals
    • Lead and support conceptual and directional design decisions at their inception
  • Execution
    • Technical investigations and problem solving as required
    • Technical responsibility to validate project is ready for service
    • Technical lead for site performance shortfalls, failures, and issue resolution
  • Revenue
    • Review and responsibility for customers/pursuits when any deviation to designs or standards is required
    • Lead technical investigations and assessment of assets under consideration for acquisition.
  • Forward Vision
    • Strong industry and vendor participation and interaction to be aware of industry leading technologies
    • Technical leadership in understanding and evaluating sustainable practices and support business goals for sustainability
    • Collaborate with customer technical needs to ensure Aligned is aware and keeping pace with industry technical developments
    • Lead technical review and validation of new technologies
  • Communications
    • Lead discussions, written and verbal, with Aligned senior leadership and Board of Directors
    • Individual should be able to communicate complex topics to work groups of varying technical experience
    • Lead/support technical training for teammates

STRONGLY DESIRED WORKING EXPERIENCE AND KNOWLEDGE OF:

  • Project Management Software (MS Projects, Prolog, Procore, BIM 360, or similar).
  • Knowledge and experience working with CAD

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering or equivalent.
  • Field experience of 10+ years can substitute for this requirement
  • Minimum 5 years' Design or project management experience within data center environment strongly preferred.
  • Architecture license preferred
  • Mechanical/Electrical understanding a plus.
  • Advanced experience in Excel and AutoCAD
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Deep understanding of the Data Center design and construction process.
  • Ability to multi-task, with strong time management and organizational skills.
  • Ability to maintain discretion and confidentiality always.
  • Team Player across the organization
  • Ability to interpret construction drawings and specifications
  • May travel at times up to 25%
  • Ability to understand construction project scopes.
