Job description

The Project Manager is accountable for managing customer development projects which drive project coordination, progress check and closure within assigned timeline. The Project Manager works closely with all areas of Connected Development's engineering teams to realize project outcomes meeting customer requirements.
Connected Development is a specialist in the electronic component distribution and design engineering services industries. This position will be onsite in Auburn Hills, MI, with the opportunity to work from home two (2) days a week after the initial 90-day training period.
ACCOUNTABILITIES:
Manage all aspects of a development project with regard to ensuring the required outcome based on customer's needs.
Work directly with and manage all internal and external resources need to complete project.
Write all relevant documentation around the project's implementation which may include the statement of work and related change orders.
Provide updated schedules to project team members as well as tracking budget progress and related expenditures.
Use relevant software management tools to facilitate the project completion.
Track monthly resource effort and expenditures that will be used to invoice the customer.
May generate and send a monthly invoice to customers reflecting the hours worked, expenses incurred and any other agreed upon amounts.
Ensure management team is informed of current issues, projects and deadlines by providing updates on an ongoing basis.
Input their own time into the hourly tracking system specific to efforts based on projects
Additional duties as assigned.
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:
A Bachelor's Degree is required; a degree in Electrical Engineering or related science/engineering study is preferred and five plus (5+) years of related experience required; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
SKILLS & CERTIFICATIONS
  • Possess technical writing and training skills.
  • Knowledge of computer operations including project organizing tools such as Microsoft Project.
  • Strong analytical, attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent organizational skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple departmental activities.
  • Ability to set and track goals.
  • Ability to analyze the impact of decisions before execution.
  • Strong interpersonal skills.
  • Must have the ability to remain in a stationary position for extended periods of time.
  • Exhibit manual dexterity to dial a telephone, to enter data into a computer terminal; to perceive and read a computer screen and printed material with or without vision aids.
  • Detect and understand speech at normal levels and on the telephone; converse in audible tones so that others may understand clearly in person and on the telephone; ability to understand and follow oral and written instructions.
