Job description

Lead Technical Program Manager, AI Transformation โ€“ Fintech / Credit Risk

San Diego OR San Francisco (Hybrid)

$250-350k base + bonus + equity

We're partnered exclusively with a fast-growing San Diego-based fintech lender on a critical hire within their newly formed AI Transformation team. This is a rare opportunity to join at the ground floor of a multi-year AI programme that is fundamentally reshaping how small business lending works, from pre-underwriting through to sales.

This is not a coordination role. This is an execution leadership position for someone who can translate AI product vision into production-ready delivery, operate confidently in a regulated environment, and hold their own in technical design conversations.

The Opportunity

As Technical Program Manager, you'll serve as the execution lead within the AI Transformation Pod, partnering directly with the AI Program Lead, engineering, data science, and operations teams to ship AI-enabled workflows at scale.

The company is deploying AI across underwriting, pre-underwriting, and sales workflows, with the goal of improving operating efficiency, unit economics, and the customer experience for small businesses. You'll be the person who makes that happen.

What You'll Own

  • Translating AI-driven business opportunities into detailed, phased technical execution plans with clear scope, dependencies, timelines, and success metrics
  • Coordinating system architecture, orchestration patterns, and integration decisions with engineering teams
  • Managing dependencies across Data Engineering, Data Science, Salesforce, and external vendors
  • Owning release plans, rollout strategies, logging, auditability, and version control across initiatives
  • Coordinating model deployment cycles with AzureML and applied AI engineers, ensuring monitoring and performance tracking frameworks are in place.
  • Serving as the primary liaison between the AI Program Lead, engineering, operations, and senior leadership

What We're Looking For

  • 5โ€“10 years in Technical Program Management or Engineering Program Management
  • Proven track record delivering AI, ML, or data-driven systems into production
  • Strong technical fluency across API integrations, workflow orchestration, cloud environments (Azure preferred), and Salesforce or similar CRM platforms
  • Experience in fintech, lending, or another regulated industry โ€” this is a hard requirement
  • Background in credit risk, underwriting principles, or decision engine implementation is a strong differentiator
  • Comfortable managing ambiguity and structuring complex, cross-functional initiatives into executable plans
  • Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field; Master's preferred
