Job Summary:
This position will report to the Bureau Chief or Deputy Bureau Chief, and is responsible for overseeing the management of the Arizona ambulance services Certificate of Necessity Licensing (CON) and rates program:
The position will be responsible for the oversight of ambulance provider certification licensing, recertification, response time compliance, establishment of general public rates, charges, contracts, and performance improvement initiatives.
The role will serve as a resource for all administrative/lead staff, and oversee work of direct reports for accuracy and compliance with applicable statutes, laws, and rules. The position will be a subject matter expert on statutes and rules, and will be expected to provide technical assistance and guidance to EMS providers.
Job Duties:
Participate in the monitoring and evaluation of programmatic activities; strategic planning and performance improvement initiatives; program policy, procedures and rules revision; participate in meetings with key stakeholders and professional organizations for program and systems performance evaluation; attend and represent office at local, regional, state and national meetings as needed.
Serve as a resource to other supervisory/lead staff in the bureau. Planning, administration and personnel management. Manage and direct subordinate staff (work assignments, setting priorities, hiring, discipline, provide training, approving leave requests, and preparing evaluations, etc.)
Review, edit, and monitor program requirements; ensuring statutory and regulatory requirements are met. Will ensure all forms and documents accurately completed within required time frames; recommend corrective action plans as needed.
Provide training and technical assistance to stakeholders; serve as a resource for EMS agencies, health care facilities, and other organizations as needed to ensure compliance with statutory and regulatory requirements.
Participate in quality assurance/performance improvement activities.
Other duties as assigned as related to the position.

Retirement:
To help you build a financially secure future, the State makes monthly contributions to finance your retirement benefit. The State will contribute to the ASRS in an amount equal to your contribution.
