Reporting to the Plant Manager, you will own safety, production, quality, cost, and on-time shipping across our operations.

What you will do
  • Drive a culture of safety-first; ensure compliance with OSHA protocols (including lockout/tagout) and partner with safety committees.
  • Plan and execute day-to-day operations that exceed customer expectations for service and quality.
  • Increase capacity and flexibility while minimizing unnecessary costs; reduce downtime and scrap with data-driven actions.
  • Allocate labor and assets smartly; monitor performance and act quickly on deviations.
  • Recruit, manage, and develop a strong plant team; deliver targeted training and mentorship to grow future leaders.
  • Build systems that track productivity, standards, and metrics to maximize return on assets, safety, and quality.
  • Manage expenses and contribute to strategic planning throughout the year.
  • Lead clear communication—run meetings, cascade goals, and establish a customer-centric mindset inside and out.
  • Ensure compliance with GMPs and SOPs; lead continuous improvement programs.
  • Escalate operational needs to the Plant Manager/Regional leadership when appropriate.
  • Translate departmental vision into executable action plans with owners and deadlines.
Safety leadership commitments
  • Participate on the Management Safety Team or support the Plant Safety Committee.
  • Hold Supervisors accountable for safety targets and model safe behaviors yourself.
  • Continuously improve safety practices across Plant Operations.
Qualifications you bring
  • Bachelor’s in business, engineering, or similar preferred; equivalent experience considered.
  • 3–5+ years in manufacturing; experience in extrusion, plastic bag converting, or paper converting is a plus.
  • Track record of structured problem-solving and leadership that delivers results.
  • Comfortable operating with minimal supervision and engaging at all levels of the org.
  • Excellent communicator—written, verbal, and in presentations.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and eager to learn new systems.
  • Coach and hold teams accountable; strong people leadership and decision-making skills.
  • Background in budgeting, strategy, resource allocation, and HR basics.
  • Ability to interpret complex documents and statistics; able to request/build performance reports.
  • Exceptional organization, prioritization, and time management.
Knowledge & skills
  • Language: Read/interpret industry publications, technical procedures, and regulations; author reports, correspondence, and procedures; present to varied audiences.
  • Math: Comfortable with numerical analysis and calculations.
  • Reasoning: Define problems, gather data, establish facts, draw conclusions, and interpret complex written/diagrammatic instructions.
  • Technical: Understand equipment design/capacity for efficient operation; cost-awareness for daily decision-making; budget development/analysis; quality systems; and regulatory requirements (wage/hour, environmental/waste minimization, company policies, and personnel requirements including OSHA, DEQ, and EEO).
