Job description

About Polymarket

Polymarket is the world's fastest growing prediction market platform. We enable individuals to express views on real-world events by trading on outcomes across politics, economics, sports, culture, and current affairs. Built as a peer-to-peer marketplace with no centralized "house," Polymarket aggregates diverse opinions into transparent, market-based probabilities that reflect collective expectations about the future.

We're growing quickly, both in terms of volume ($115B traded to date) and adoption as an alternative news source. Our ambition is to become a ubiquitous beacon of truth in global media and we need your help adding fuel to the fire.

About the Role

Polymarket is hiring a Director of Data Analytics to lead the team that turns data into decisions across the company. You'll lead our embedded analytics organization, including analysts and data scientists aligned to growth, product, markets, finance, risk, and institutional, ensuring every team has trusted insights to make better decisions.

You'll define the analytics strategy, establish a high bar for rigor, and build a high performing organization that partners closely with leaders across the business. The team is responsible for uncovering opportunities, measuring impact, and helping shape the company's most important decisions. Success requires balancing deep partnership with individual teams while maintaining consistent definitions, analytical standards, and best practices across the organization.

This is a hands-on leadership role. You'll work closely with business leaders to frame the right questions, guide complex analyses, and translate data into clear recommendations that influence strategy. As Polymarket continues to launch new products and enter new markets, you'll build an analytics function that helps the company move faster, make smarter decisions, and create lasting competitive advantage.

What You'll Do
  • Lead, hire, and develop a team of embedded analysts and data scientists across growth, product, markets, finance, risk, and institutional

  • Own the analytical standard including what makes an analysis rigorous, decision-ready, and honest about its assumptions

  • Partner with business leaders to set each function's analytical agenda, so your team works on what matters rather than on what was asked most loudly

  • Protect the embedded model. Analysts own outcomes inside their teams, not staffing a ticket queue

  • Build shared craft across a distributed team through review practices, experimentation standards, and a way for good work to travel between verticals

  • Partner with data platform leadership on the metrics layer, so definitions stay consistent and recurring analyses graduate into modeled datasets instead of living in notebooks

  • Own the analytics leadership sees, including company-level reporting and the numbers that go to the board and to investors

  • Develop analysts into senior individual contributors and future leads, and be straight with people about where they stand

What We're Looking For
  • 10+ years in analytics or data science, including 4+ years managing analysts or scientists

  • Expert SQL, and enough statistical grounding to review an experiment design or a causal claim and catch what is wrong with it

  • Experience running an embedded or matrixed analytics team, and a clear point of view on where that model breaks down

  • Credibility with senior business stakeholders — you can push back on an executive with evidence and keep the relationship intact

  • A track record of developing analysts, including promoting people and managing others out when it was the right call

  • Strong prioritization instincts across functions with genuinely competing demands and no obvious tiebreaker

  • A hiring track record — you have built a team, not only inherited one

  • Comfortable operating in a fast-moving environment where business logic changes frequently and you need to keep pace

  • (Plus) Data science depth — experimentation design, causal inference, or predictive modeling

  • (Plus) Experience in a marketplace, exchange, or trading business where analytics sits close to the economics

  • (Plus) Experience in fintech, crypto, prediction markets, or other data-intensive financial products

Benefits
  • Competitive salary & equity

  • Unlimited PTO

  • Full Health, Vision, & Dental coverage

  • 401k match

  • Hardware setup: new MacBook Pro, big display, & accessories
